The problem i have with him is the longevity of his appointment. People moan about Levy sacking, but what if this guy turns out as expected? it would be great, but then Barcelona come knocking and he is gone and we are back to being where we were previously, only this time no Levy to blame.

Maybe its thinking of issues before they arise, but it is a real one.

The thing is, if any manager that comes in gets poached for fulfilling their expectations then we should be in a much better position as a club to get a good replacement. Let's say for example de Boer comes in and gets us CL football, or even does a Rodgers and makes us a proper force in the EPL. Our profile will be a hell of a lot higher and we can then hopefully replace him with a well established manager of a high calibre as we'll be seen as a big club that's going places.

In all honesty, I wouldn't worry about it. We've got to worry about getting a good bloody manager in the first place!

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

No i get that, and if it happened after two/three seasons i get it. But after one, for instance it would be just as bad as the sacking merry go round.

It's not really an issue yet, we don't know who is who at the moment.

I have to say with Rodgers that I will be interested to see how Liverpool do next season if they end up spending longer in competitions. I guess it's a given that he'll play kids in the league cup but I'm sure they'll have a tougher time next season. Sorry, that was a bit off topic.

When you consider the way Eriksen is developing, I'm beginning to think that Frank de Boer may just be the best man for the job. He also could be the only manager out there that could not only convince Vertonghen to stay, but get him back to top form.

The success of Eredevisie players in the Prem recently (Suarez, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Bony) also makes me think that bringing in a few more Ajax players would be a good idea. Daley Blind, Viktor Fischer, and Joel Veltman would all be very affordable and would slot in pretty quickly into our squad. I'd also try to bring in Alderweireld as both CB/RB cover from Atletico, where he isn't getting games.

The only case for De Boer is the case Sherwood will hide De Boers maimed carcass in when Sherwood is done with him.
