This is so sad. His head is an egg shell.@aussiespursguy
What’s the story with Pucovski? I’ve just read that he’s again had to be subbed out of a game due to concussion in the warm up, something like his 12th concussion?
Does he have a weakness/illness or is it sheer bad luck that he keeps getting knocked so to speak? Assume he has collided with someone during the warm up? He wouldn’t be batting without a lid and getting pinned or anything like that surely?
I’d have thought with what happened with Hughes he’d have been retired long ago though. This is so sad. His head is an egg shell.
It was during warm ups before play at Adelaide oval. It was a soccer ball! Nothing to do with cricket.
This guy is seriously so talented but I think his career is over before it really began.
This is his 11th concussion. As Peter Lalor says in the article below, he needs to be protected from himself!
Just really sad but I think its best for Will if he calls it a day.

Not being the biggest fan of Root's captaincy I feel obliged to wonder just how involved he was in this decision. My money is on very much so. This might not end well for Broad and Anderson. I hope they get at least one last summer and when the time does come, that it's done with a bit of class.Broad off his long run here...

I just CANNOT believe you have taken that stance. Not being the biggest fan of Root's captaincy I feel obliged to wonder just how involved he was in this decision. My money is on very much so. Really sad for the guy, I hadn’t realised just how good his record as a youngster was and why there was so much hype around him. So much so that the pressure was immense and I believe he took a break for mental health reasons at one point? This is so sad. His head is an egg shell.

TBF he must surely have had something to do with it ?I just CANNOT believe you have taken that stance.
It’s an interesting one for me. Strauss in his press conference made very clear that the selection committee was himself, Collingwood and James Taylor. And the wording was that Root wanted to carry on as captain and was determined to lead a “new era”, whether that was forced on him or not is a bit open to interpretation.TBF he must surely have had something to do with it ?

I know Broad has column inches to fill but I might have just kept quiet and let the proverbial do the talking. We either lose in the WI and he could sit there laughing from the inside and THEN release a statement, or…we win for the first time in about 8 Tests and people now point at him and laugh that he wasn’t involved and made this story.
I'm expecting to see some pretty poor cricket between 2 very average sides with the odd spark of brilliance from one or two good players on either side.I'd like to ask other cricket nuts out there what they expect from the boys in their upcoming tour of the Windies.
Personally, I'm not sure what I expect after that brutal mauling we got out in Oz, but I hope at least we put up a much greater fight against their bowlers especially. Their 'quicks' on their own conditions can be quite intimidating, I'm sure, but no greater than Starc, Cummings, Green and Hazelwood, that's for sure.
In theory you're right of course. Which makes me think about the bolded part. It's a funny one as Broady & Anderson absolutely make the best current starting XI. On the other hand, I understand the anxiety of getting the young/new players in to see what they're about. Especially away where we have struggled in the past. Omitting them completely from the tour though is rather harsh. Perhaps the easiest/best way of handling the situation, would have been to bleed in the new faces with the old boys around, to give them counsel and help them through the starts of their career.
It's criminal that the new players won't have the experienced counsel of 1200 Test wickets. There's no way Broad & Anderson shouldn't be apart of the process of getting the next generation of bowlers through. The only reason not to do so, is if the senior players are unprofessional and/or bad eggs. Jimmy & Broady don't seem to be those types of people.
Not impossible no. Whilst I listened in, I personally didn't think it was right for Jimmy to appear on the Tailenders podcast during the Ashes. I also didn't like the "emergency" episode which celebrated a draw as if they'd won the World Cup, despite their denials of celebrations. In theory you're right of course. Which makes me think about the bolded part.
At the end of the day they are just miserable fast bowlers, and maybe a tour with Broad and his Mail column, Jimmy and his podcast, constantly being asked about their roles in the team was deemed too much of a distraction by Strauss and Co.
