How old are you?
My father actually says this too, though he usually follows up with Gazza etc.

He's 65, and is a big big follower of spurs. Though this isn't the right place to discuss lol.

Miguel Delaney / Independent now reporting that City are prepared to go to £150m for Kane.

Sounds like we could have liftoff if that's accurate.

In the article it says City hopes to get Levy to the negotiating table with £150m.

So the final figure could even end up being higher, who knows?

Lol no, it was a genuine question. I was trying to work out if you were too young to remember Glenn, Gascoigne, and maybe Bale. or really old and worried you'd pop your clogs before the next one came around.

Carragher made the same point - we haven't won anything with him. Given the competition in the prem this season i dont see that changing in the next year or two so, by that logic, if we can get close to 130-140m for him and invest in 2 or 3 of the players mentioned in recent weeks by ITK - who are mainly all younger players - we can possibly build a squad to challenge in years 3,4,5. Harry will be one of the greatest players this club has had, not least produced, but the club will keep being here long after he's retired. Its just a shame to end this way. His brother should have written a £150m clause in his 6 year contract and none of this nonsense would have had to have played out in the public eye.

Or have requested a transfer.

Kane is not a touch on Bale.

Never has been and never will be.

So we sell Kane for that much and then buy who? The strikers who we've been linked to are all but off the table for various reasons; everyone will know that the club has the money; and there's piss all time left in the window. I just don't see how this works out for the club at this stage.

Miguel Delaney wrote that new independent piece and he is a journo who maybe 4 months ago said on a football zoom call I was on that Grealish to city was basically done. Not sure if he is getting info from city or villa side on that deal but he does know his stuff..

I don’t understand the phrase “preparing to make a bid”.

I mean, I understand the individual words - they’re not difficult words - but who is that aimed at and what does it achieve? I mean really?

It’s like me sending a mate a Rightmove link to a house and saying “I’m preparing to make an offer on it”.

WHO FUCKING CARES. MAKE THE OFFER. DICKHEADS.

Well said mate, that’s exactly my thoughts too.

"a conversation with Levy - no cup or Champs League - we will allow you to leave"

Well, what drives me mad is that we were in another cup final this season, and Kane didn't show up for it. We were also in a challenging race to get top 4 till the last month of the season and ended up 5 points behind 4th place Chelsea (with a better GD than them). If Kane was focused on the job, rather than coordinating his destabilising interview with Gary Neville we might not have dropped 6 points in May against Leeds and Aston Villa, who we'd beaten in the reverse fixtures earlier in the season.

Ultimate professional, what a load of bollocks.

TBH I think in this case this whole saga has basically been played through the media. City have been leaking £100m, then £130m and now maybe £150m and then gauging our response. I imagine the other suggestions have fallen on deaf ears but If City get a few hints from us at a deal after this leak then maybe this will get us to the table.

I’d assume this would be a staged process. We tentatively agree a fee with City, then get our targets lined up before signing off on the deal. Domino effect, and I’d guess we will get our targets over the line before Kane goes. If we can’t get our preferred targets then the Kane deal goes no further. There have been comments that Paratici works in a way that he could well already have deals worked through to certain point ready to press go.

Was also the first and maybe only one who reported on our approach for Lopetegui, that the Sevilla chairman or equivalent confirmed in the following weeks. But his reports do seem to be hit and miss.

Sara Meini from RAI (Italy’s equivalent of the BBC) now reporting City are in for Vlahovic.

The timing of this + the Delaney story look like a City tactic to get Levy answering the phone quickly tbh.

The info from Miguel Delaney sort of lines up with the dates we heard earlier from ITK by way of deadlines (23rd August/end of this week).

The worrying thing is that our striker targets appear to be unattainable or at least more unlikely now than they were a couple of weeks ago. We can't afford to leave ourselves short and let City screw us over, Berbatov style.
