Press stating Millik is No1 choice, but ITK all appear to be in unison that the No1 choice is actually not being widely reported in the media. There does appear a confident undertone to the ITK this year, albeit with the usual level of caution due to past windows. Just got to let the window play out.

If the new striker comes in at the last minute he will go straight into the team as first choice simply because Kane will have played something like 10 games in two weeks, will have picked up a serious injury through lack of rest. We will then be one striker short for the next 4 months.

As JJ has challenged the sceptics about the striker, I will do the same! Extremely confident about the striker. The specifics target is not from these shores, and I have not the slightest idea who it could be on the list of 5. But it is a very exciting list, to a very interesting one. Few weeks ago we never had certain options, and now we do.

Told you about TN, now JM has endorsed and confirmed it. Serge was very keen on going to Italy, but certain factors which I will not mention here, all but put an end to that, though things can change.

I said initially we were not in for a LB, and said seems that may have changed, though it was not an area we wanted to improve. The reason we were looking was in case we loaned out Sess. But! He is not being loaned out. And we have Cirkin, and have heard no talks about him or White being loaned out?

Kim we are highly keen on, but if we cannot do a deal, it is a possibility we revisit in January, unless we bring in an opportunity CH from elsewhere.

GB is gathering super pace, and looking good. Player himself has instructed his agents to make it happen. I would say there is two parties that can frustrate that, and it is RM throwing an unworkable condition in the deal, which they have a history of doing. Or someone from his side being bone-headed about the conditions of the deal. Please remain pessimistic at this point. DL is all over this, with all the nuisances our side covered within reason.

if we acquire all the above, will only be outs and not ins after this. Possibility couple of ins to cover the under 21’s. I said ‘Possibility’ not a cert!

Appreciate the info, I'm really excited about the potential striker option. Sounds like it'll be a late but decent deal.

I want to make it known the reason I haven't yet put the kermit sipping gif in the Ndombele thread yet is because you all keep posting spoilers from All or Nothing, rest assured that gif will make an appearance once I've caught up.

My guess (please note, guess) is that we are doing what we usually do and have a lot of targets lined up. It’s not like we go out there and tell players and agents that they are a second choice, we will have different people working on different deals and ultimately the committee will make a decision on which ones to close once they know the price.

The confidence from Mourinho and JJ suggests that we know of at least one striker who is attainable at the right price range and acceptable to Jose so we can pull the trigger if needed. In the meantime we’re seeing if we can pull off something that is even more favourable/preferred before the deadline.

that's all well and good, but surely that hampers our start to the season? surely we go for the more favourable/prefered to begin with, then go for the fall back option nearer the end of the window if choice "a" isnt available?

I’m confused whether we have a list of 5 strikers that have not been mentioned in the press or whether there is 1 of the 5, our main target, that hasn’t been mentioned in the press ... but if Herc knows who is on the list, then he’d know the one that hasn’t been named in the press which makes me think that it’s a completely unknown list of 5?! ?

And I’ve gone crossed eyed. :wacky:

A surprise striker and Bale would be an amazing window and far exceed my expectations.
I do love a surprise name!

1 in 5 I bet, because I'm assuming there's only 1 striker left in world football we haven't been linked with.

Doesn't always work like that. Perhaps the selling club need to get the replacement in first. Most clubs work this way, and transfers often work in chains just like buying houses. No one wants to be homeless.

If i'm reading Hercs striker info correctly, he's saying there is a list of 5 names and one of those is our specific target, who will not be from these shores, but he doesn't know which one of the 5 that is.. which indicates that all 5 names aren't from these shores ???? anyone else agree or have i got this twisted up ?

Wow Herc stays quiet for a few days then comes off the top rope with the motherload of all posts!

This is all very exciting. Assuming the LB is who we all think, and we’re confident on striker and Bale is getting more likely, this window is on the precipice of an all timer. Great info cheers Herc!

fair enough, not knocking anything. its just we've been here so many times, and then ended the window with nothing.

Very promising news. Bale + exciting Striker + Reguilon would be absolute dreamland. Any two of those would be a fantastic window.

Serge staying to be backup RB isn't the end of the world, good to have solid depth there and he's one of Tanguy's big bros.

Levy always used to say he was cautious so we could be competitive if the TV bubble ever burst. Hopefully we've got means to do all of the above with a bit of creative accounting (loans, instalments, add ons etc...). You can see how Levy looks at Jose, he would want to back him.

As always with Spurs the worry is something coming in at the 11th hour and scuppering the deal(s).

Edit- think I read that wrong about Reguilon, which is fair enough. Just Bale + Striker would be unreal with possibility for Kim and maybe replacement RB if Serge left.

Also, an energised and motivated TN would be more impactful than most signings made by anyone in the league this year. Would be huge!

I’m confused by the left back situation, is Hercs saying we’re now ‘not’ after a LB eg Reguilon (linked via previous ITK).

If all works out we’ll be signing Bale, a striker and Kim Min-Jae?
