If Raphael says he's not interested in joining us then I would say that's that.
Like all journalists his info should be taken with a pinch of salt

Is that you Daniel? One good thing about signing Ade late is saving 3 weeks wages.

Yeah agree there, just found it bizarre that he is supposedly not interested in coming to us but is interested in a move to a team we have finished above for years
I don't agree with this. There were quotes last week from Sahin saying he would join us and that Mourinho had spoke highly of AVB.
I think Sahin would have gone elsewhere if Madrid weren't hoping to offload him onto us. AVB clearly wants Moutinho and that is what is stopping that deal happening.
No that's ridiculous of course, there's no reason at all to prefer Liverpool over us for a loan move, we should have every advantage over them here. "Categorically won't join Spurs" - ridiculous.
For those that have been placed on suicide watch, can we all remember that this is not Football Manager and is the real world. If you take the facts that we have had the Euros, Olympics this summer, FFP coming in and add the general economic climate it is not suprising it is difficult to do business, it does not mean we are not trying.
If you then factor in that AVB is fairly new and wanted to see what he had got before moving, which is a sensible approach then you have where we are, which is better than the City who even with their wealth and the promise of CL can't do any business as yet.
I too, would have preferred early business and two world class strikers done and dusted by end of June, but being realistic and knowing that we are trying to do exciting deals places me a long way from the ledge of despair.
still not true...Ade is though!
Song could go, Diaby is ridiculously injury prone, Wilshire night never play again. Cazorla might need time to settle, rosicky is pants bar a clip last season. Arteta good and Ramsey pretty awful. The same story ive read for over a month - he is available and Arsenal aint the type to wait until the last day of the window so why hasnt he joined? The Song story is irrelevant as this has run far longer than his proposed to Barca, plus the fact they are completely different types of player. Sahin will not join Arsenal imo - they already have Song, Diaby, Wilshere, Cazorla, Rosicky, Arteta and Ramsay who play in the midfield 3 which they normally employ.

Room for quality in there.
Sahin for a year with no long term option and no desire for the player to stay longer is not ideal, even less so if Modric goes. I'd prefer one of the other players permanently we've been linked with...
An off topic question - if AVB puts his faith in player(s) considered shite by some people on here will they criticise the player or the manager who picks them? I'm talking Jenas, Bentley, Huddlestone, GDS etc....
I have some info on Sahin. What I've been told is exactly what Honigstein has said above, however I've been told Arsenal are 99% nailed on to sign him unless something stupid like agreeing wages messes it up.
The main reason Liverpool are serious conteners is that he's been told he'll play every game in his favourite position/role, but more importantly, due to Jose and Rodger's being so close friends, and with Mourinho rating him so high (It all goes back to the Chelsea days), he'd like the player to join up with Brendan. Sahin much prefers Arsenal however, but is willing to consider Liverpool as a second choice just in case.
The LFC offer made to Madrid is also more preferable to them than Arsenals I'm told, so another reason they would like him to seriously consider Liverpools interest.
The quotes attributed to Sahin regarding Newcastle and Liverpool last week were entirely fictious as I said at the time.
There is also one as yet unamed club also involved but person I spoke to don't know who it is other than its not Spurs????
I think its United who want to sign him permanently.
I'll pass on anything else I get told or come across but I'm as sure as sure can be that he will soon be an Arsenal player unless Wenger does a classic Wenger and manages to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory!
I want to be Bennie's friend!
I like him, a LOL!
