Sahin for a year with no long term option and no desire for the player to stay longer is not ideal, even less so if Modric goes. I'd prefer one of the other players permanently we've been linked with...

An off topic question - if AVB puts his faith in player(s) considered shite by some people on here will they criticise the player or the manager who picks them? I'm talking Jenas, Bentley, Huddlestone, GDS etc....

Depends how the players and team do tbh. If the likes of Bentley come in and put in the same performances as previously then i wouldnt be happy with AVB as his job is to pick the best team. If Bentley simply isnt good enough then it isnt his fault - its only his fault if he doesnt make the effort.

Woahh..

Agreed to what extent? Even Sahin had agreed to come? As in, if we wanted him, it was a done deal?

If that's true, I'm seriously disappointed!

I thought that was two or three weeks ago? Good to know that it's not dead. I hope we're trying for at least a loan with an option to buy.

That doesn't necessarily rule out what Honigstein wrote. The clubs may have agreed, but AVB and Sahin may both have given the deal the thumbs down. What kind of deal was agreed anyway? And surely JJ's post that we had a fantastic deal all but done was longer than a week ago?

Excellent point Steve. I would rather Moutinho anyway - and yes I know its very unlikely.

As for your second paragraph - I guess whatever suits the moment for most ie selective.

Just hope AVB isnt so used to get the players he want that he just dismiss strong players like Sahin and would only take his first choice replacement in Moutinho.

Might be he just dont rate Sahin at all, but i would gladly take Sahin plus enough money for a decent forward and keeper instead of just sending all the Modric funds to Porto.

He's an excellent player, but think his haircut is possibly better suited to Serie A - they can get away with a lot more in that division.

Seriously though, I would really prefer whoever else comes in (lets assume that Ade is coming) to be a bit younger.

Think this could be right, I mean from the comments, would Sahin turn us down if it was a 1 year loan, he may well be completely amenable to that - but that doesn't solve things for AVB long term, even if Levy might like the idea as a stop-gap, which we haven't been afraid to do of late. However, you would imagine having only played for Dortmund and Real, at 23, he would categorically not join us in a permanent move..whereas unfortunately he might look at the goonscum as something less of a step down what with their CL and all...or they're happy to go with him for a year while the grotbag chav recuperates?

Ade = Erection.

Ade + Lloris = Jizz

Ade, Lloris + Moutinho or Sahin = Multiple, powerful 15 yard jisms.

Ade, Lloris, Moutinho/Sahin & llorente/Leandro = Cock falls off.

I think this is a point that is often overlooked. I infrequently look at Coloccini and think how much better suited he'd be playing for an Italian club, or indeed the 80s band Europe.

I think we'll sign two strikers before the 1st September. I don't think we'll sign two before Saturday. I don't think we'll see anyone other than Defoe starting against Newcastle.

I hope I'm wrong though.

If this doesn't happen we're in trouble. Scratch that - it simply has to.

Still hopeful of someone other than Defoe leading the line this weekend but with every day that passes the fear becomes closer to reality. Urgh.

I also think much is being placed on the 'forfeiting' of the first two games last season. That was in effect what happened but at the same time those were also the two most likely defeats of the season regardless. We lost the other two witha settled squad so there is every chance we would have been in the same situation had we not 'written off' those games.

Ryan, I think you need to join ITK anonymous. You were meant to be giving this stuff up when Harry left.

It's all one big elaborate transfer poker shenanigans - we could end up raking it in with a transfer window that BomberH would, ahem, lose his cock over, or it seems we may end up Frazier Campbell-ed!
