The problem is you can only tell if the transfer window is any good at the end of the season. Even then a gem might not reach full shine for a year or two afterwards.

Been told (3rd hand) that there was a vey small snippet on FTL earlier today saying that Illa was the player that poch wanted.

I mentioned Illarramendi as a possible option about 3 months ago, although as usual I think he would be better anchoring a cm3. Nice to see that we finally take notice. Suspect 'Pool are strongly in for him as well though and have had him lined up for a while.

The huge clubs like Madrid, Barca, Utd often sell at a big loss so I wouldnt be surprised if we can get him for closer to €20 mil.

As someone else mentioned, the real issues are persuading him to sign and hoping no-one else comes in for him. We won't be able to offer the wages of some bigger clubs so hopefully first team football is his no.1 priority.

To be fair... There were doubts over Soldado, many of us couldn't understand spending that amount on an unproven prem fox in the box v Benteke .

Lamela we were all relying on Baldinis judgement and Eriksen many wanted and are happy with.

We have some money left and the ITK of 2 outgoing being possible so £35M is within our projected structure of net spend.

Think we will have to shift first. We can expect at least £5m for Lennon. If Fazio takes another chunk off the Berahino deal we might have a chance. Could see Lamela or Townsend being sold as well. Think the next 2 weeks are going to be busy.
