There has been talk of holding money back to January, as it might make all the difference being able to strengthen in a specific are if needed during a long season like this one.

Saying that I'll be surprised if no one comes in at all.
With Gil looking likely to leave we should get a replacement.

I also think we would have saved the romero news for end of the window to cheer people up if we weren't planning on making any new signings

Once our remaining targets (Bastoni etc) were undoable then this isn't surprising and is completely different to other windows.
We have hugely strengthened the squad and were we are now means only players of a very high quality actually improve us. Better to hold off until Jan / next summer to hopefully sign the likes of Bastoni/Gvardiol level players instead of panic buying now.

This has been a brilliant window and alot better than I thought it would be.

Sadly not looking great. Be shocked if someone of any worth came in.
I understand the sentiment people will feel here but there's absolutely no 'sadly' if it meant going for the likes of Traore and Dan James et al.

Buy the right players at the right price and not merely settle.

Would be naive - the price that players will be going for as clubs are struggling from the effects of the WC will be astronomical, not forgetting its also January where prices are higher anyway.

We're not short, it's just a question of whether some younger players are ready to step up (Tanganga, Gil and Sarr primarily.) If there's no quality options it makes sense to take a chance on them for now. Conte is saying we need 2 more windows so maybe if the quality isn't here now we have to wait until next year. No good signing someone who we need to try and shift again next year.

We certainly utilised the Jan market well and post world Cup normally drives movement so this doesn't surprise me at all. Seems to make good sense, especially if we are been quoted 60m for the players we want now.
A very pertinent point re the World Cup and where it's positioned now in the season.

Makes you feel January will be a much more active transfer window than in previous years.

And still we signed two great players for next to nothing last January. I'll trust Conte and Paratici to make that judgement.
Blowing our cash on meh players now isn't a good idea, I'd rather we wait until January. Served Liverpool great when they wanted van Dijk.

A player being quoted 60 right now would be quoted 100 in January due to WC effects - clubs struggling, player may perform very well. This talk about laying off till January doesnt make sense.

Disappointing end considering the great work put in earlier in the window if this is the case.

It's still a good window but it certainly has fallen short of expectations.

Maybe the player/s were interested in won't be involved at the WC. ??

Still would cost a lot, they'd be a fit and fresh player that could be very valuable to the club when players are tired/injured from WC. It only increases their value to the club, and therefore their selling price.

Brilliant window.

Thanks to all the itks for the ride.

God some people are greedy goblins. If at the start of the window someone predicted our business most would have told them they were dreaming

All this talk about player prices in Jan is pure conjecture, there's no point in guessing it'll go one way or another. Look what's happened with our attempts to make money shifting 4 players out. Sounds to me like we're just deciding that it's better to save the money for an opportunity we do want rather than rush a deal that we don't want. Seems sensible to me, doesn't mean anything will happen in January but if the opportunity is there, we'll be positioned to take it.

If that’s it so be it. I think getting things done early has made it feel like things have fizzled out. We’ve got in a few level raisers, some elite prospects and some improved depth. It’s one of the best windows we’ve had for a long time regardless of these last couple of days.

I would rather we kept the powder dry for when the right player becomes available, then spend on dross which we have to loan out in later years when we can’t shift them.

Think the whirlwind start to the window had raised all our expectations of a grand finale.

Oh lord give me strength..... we are unbeaten so far, haven't even started playing yet, one of our main strikers hasn't got his groove going as yet, but is quality and will show that ... perisic and Richie are our only new signings to have really got going so far.... bissouma will be integrated.. we have 3 covering CBs of which tanganga is the weakest but would be a starter for a lot of PL teams, skipp not featured yet, Spence is gonna be something, gil and sarr gonna get some minutes here and there........ and yet there's rumblings of disappointment.... talk about falling into a bag of tits and coming out sucking your thumb guys!! It's been a brilliant window and if there's nothing left so be it... cannot fault spurs this summer it's been epic.. get a grip!!

One WF short in my opinion. If we get a single injury to any of our front 4, the drop down in quality from the bench is enormous. 2 injuries would mean a complete formation change or it would mean either Gil or Lucas starting every game.
