mini snippet from trix: Was told that even though Poch see's CB as our weakest area, MS is without doubt his number 1 target for this window.
Lets pray we get both then (MM and MS)

Yes lets discuss the lack of ITK on the deals we never close.
I can't get my head around MS being number 1 target. Yes I'd like us to sign him but we can cope without him. Our number 1 priority should be the weakest position in the team. Sign MM and if MS happens it's a bonus.Lets pray we get both then (MM and MS)

Just going by what the ITK says. "Poch see's centre backs as our weakest area". So he can't be too happy.I guess he thinks MS could be pivotal, and he's not as unhappy with our CB options?

If you think we'd sell Paulinho for £7m, you'd be mistaken.I'm sorry but MS and MM would literally be unreal. The amount of ITK about both strongly suggests we are willing to get both FOR THE RIGHT PRICE.
It is not a question of one or the other, which makes me think that we really are bloody trying.
Don't like seeing hate for Levy et al on this because quite frankly ITK has stated it is the lack of willingness from potential outgoings and also other clubs/third parties that is holding up transfers.
Yeah so Levy is unwilling to get mugged off and sell players at under their value; so what? We would all be complaining if we heard we sold (HYPOTHETICALLY) Paulinho for 7m/Dembele for 8m/Townsend for 5m/Chadli for 5m/Chiriches for 4m etc (REASONABLE GUESSTIMATIONS)
The ITKs all points to the same thing:we are being cautious but positive in out attempts to make killer signings and astute sales.
We are a turtle in this race for glory, we have to win it slow and steady. Over years or perhaps even decades. All we can do is enjoy the ride and keep believing.
COYS.
Because Pochottino wants us to play in a certain way, he believes it is critical that we get this right quickly and once we do the sky is the limit, for this to happen he needs players to fulfil roles within the team, if the players don't then we will fail.I can't get my head around MS being number 1 target. Pochottino therefore has to have players doing what he needs them to do, it is absolutely fundemental to the future success of the club and the one thing he knows with absolute indisputable certainty is that Morgan Schneiderlin will do what he needs him to do and that is why Morgan Schneiderlin would be the number 1 target.
Hope this helps, it's quite simple really.
I still think we will.Lets pray we get both then (MM and MS)
Also, we're not selling Verts. United won't want him anyway as they've signed Shaw and Rojo who are both left-sided players already.
We've already sold Livermore for £8million, Siggy for circa £8-£10million and Falque for circa £4-£5million so we've recouped a fair bit already.I do worry that we won't offload enough, and if we do whether or not we'll have the money for MM and MS.
Vorm(3.5)+Davies(sig)+Dier(4)+Yedlin(2.5)+MS(22?)+MM(17?)= 49m
Idk what we could make from sales as we have no idea who could go and what we could make from them but if we look at a possible £20m+ net spend can we afford that? If so would we pay it? I'm not sure
Seriously jealous of your optimismI still think we will.

True, I suppose the Defoe money top. Although Siggy basically bought DaviesWe've already sold Livermore for £8million, Siggy for circa £8-£10million and Falque for circa £4-£5million so we've recouped a fair bit already.
