which was my thought i guess, with them perhaps wanting to push on this year. Chamakh will surely go...

Agreed Greaves, I reckon our real competition is Cheatski. Thye've royally fucked us over with Hazard, Oscar, and potentially LLorente. Wonder if our scouting department has a leak that needs to be addressed, or Mr Arnesen still has a phone tapped somewhere

Isn't Arnesen at Hamburg now?

Right, Kendall. got to be between us, Chelsea and Man City then ....(I counted Man City because they sold Ade to us, and likley letting Dzeko+Santa cruz go, plus Aguero is probably injured)
I think the quote from the agent said specifically that it was one from London and one from Manchester.

I think like sharks they'll just take whatever they can. No different to Spurs over other ('lower') clubs, just different places in the old food chain.

is it just me or does anyone else feel that AVB and his squad culling seems to indicate a streak of ruthlessness and lack of sentimentality about him? Trim the fat, do away with what we don't need now in the present squad, and bring in the team for the Now.

With the names that we've been linked with, it's not about getting the players who have "been there" and are at the peak (Arry's favorites), but more on the up-and-coming and the "future"....those that will stick around for a while. AVB's not afraid of radical changes even if it means letting the fan favorites go.

I like it to be honest, we needed it. I think AVB wants to be here for the long-haul and really build something for the future. If Dawson is announced to leave today it will be sad, but I think it will also mean that AVB and Levy are serious about taking this team to the next level.

Agent said interested clubs, London and Manchester...

I'm sure we're interested, but I'm not sure either of the Manchesters will be. United certainly won't now that VP has signed. I don't see City going for him unless Dzeko leaves.
in case you missed it like 10 times yesterday the person quoted wasn't his agent.

I think you will find we royally fucked ourselves over, by capitulating during the 2nd half of last season and missing out on 3rd.

What made yesterday so great? ..............................I feel our plan for this year is just to build the team again. I don't think Levy expects a top 4 finish and would be happy with a top half finish
I haven't quoted all of your post as I didn't want you to re-read it and make me responsible for tipping you over the edge. Just promise me you'll stay away from sharp objects until we sign a couple more players. (y)

Thanks spud but I'm cool. Just read the last part of the post where it says the window is still open..................

Do you feel we currently have a squad to challenge for a top spot?

They were talking about Llorente on La Liga Revista last night and suggested it was between us and Juventus. They also said that Llorente is getting a lot of abuse in training and around the City at the moment and is almost being forced out.

Llorente also admitted last year that he would like to play in the Premier League one day.

It ties in with the Goats info on the 15th as well so (y).

"There isn't any Tottenham representative here, and nothing is scheduled," he told Globo Esporte.
"The ones that have been coming here are agents. Leandro Damiao was top scorer in the Olympics. I have nothing scheduled with Tottenham.
"Internacional want to keep Leandro Damiao. He'll leave only if there is an extraordinary offer."

exactly as he should be. I want to win things and I want to like the players that do that for my club. Bye bye dead wood, you were nice - but now we have direction.

(edit: oh I see spiv put all this rather more eloquently... good man)
