Oh hardly naive. These are businessmen who deal with multi-million pound deals and assets. Naive? Sorry, but you're speaking about people who have a thousand times the experience that you do.

Football Manager does not count as experience. It's a crude tool for trying to give an insight into a system which cannot be synthesised by a set of spreadsheets and pixels.

And again. you're opinion is coming from the same experience and knowledge that I have (maybe a bit less, maybe more- we don't know what each other do), to highlight a scenario where perhaps we could have been tighter is not ridiculous. We don't know if there is a reason that we didnt sign him subject to a medical, but *possibly* it's what we decided and *possibly* it backfired on us.

To be honest I'd rather Lamela (21yrs old) Ljajic (21yrs old) and Eriksen (21yrs old), rather than Lamela and Willian

We may now go for Eriksen and Alder...

There are plenty of alternatives, many better than Willian, the question will be price and availability. Two that immediately spring to mind are Hamsik, a much better number 10, and my personal favourite Marco Reus. Admittedly both their clubs are in CL but let's not lose sight of the fact that there haven't been many £30m transfers in history so it is still a big sum. Arguably Ozil will be made available when Madrid sign Bale and there aren't many better than him.

Methinks Marco Reus is a tad out of our reach......unfortunately

Were never going to get Marko Reus hes at the second biggest club in Germany. CL finalists last season, plays for one of the best managers in the world. Im sure we could triple what ever he is on but I think he knows Dortmund are doing good things

Ok as i said last night everything bar him signing a contract was done, Kia played us along with Roman.

Gutted just what we needed, hopefully tie Lamella up fast but now what do we do, not many willing sellers out there with quality number 10s.

To be honest, its not that we have lost out on Willian that has me peeved, but the fact that we were exposed publicly in how did conduct this deal. This was confirmed by Mourinhos mocking and smug comment about not doing medicals before contract is signed i.e. we were amateurish in our attempts now we are playing with the big boys. Those on RAWK, Red Cafe, Arsenmania etc must be having a field day at our expense. Lessons learned I hope.
