If my Grandma had wheels she’d be a bike.
Bullshit argument.
remember the Leipzig CL games?
down to the bare bones playing literally anyone available up front.
The kind of injury issues that Arsenal would get the whole season cancelled for.
Btw, part of the reason why Chelsea are so much better than us is their squad depth.
Even if Kane got sent off we’d be screwed for the games he was out, especially if it coincided with either Son Or Lucas being injured.
It’s not pie in the sky- these are realistic problems for a squad to manage throughout a season

So little Daniel fucked off to the Bahamas to sip Pina coladas then. Where's the money him and that old **** agreed to spend?
Go to the enic thread. Such a chore reading through posts like this

Edit disagree all you want. It's boring, off topic and irrelevant

Edit 2 for people disagreeing, there's a mod a few posts down saying the same thing - go on disagree with ever, I dare you.

Edit 3 it's like I could predict which bellends would disagree haha

I think you’ll find they spent most of the time talking about which golf course or hotel they were buying. Things that make money.

Considering that we all have access to the same information (ITK and mods aside) yet are able to reach a vast spectrum of conclusions, can we at least acknowledge that 90% of these annual debates are about things entirely of our own imagination?

Shh. Or we won't have a forum anymore if they realized this.

All the money we spend on Paratici/Hitchen/Scouts etc; yet we find ourselves hunting around the bargain bucket yet again. May as well sack the whole scouting network and just let tealady do transfer dealings.

We always get linked to average to poor players and yet people are still losing their minds when a new link comes up. I also don't get why people are calling Traore a reserve all of a sudden just to add to their agenda. He's one of Wolves best players who has been dropped only recently because his form dipped. Most likely due to his head being turned. The same happened to Kane and he's world class. The only difference is we didn't drop him and got a manager to match his ambition.

I'll wait and see if we actually sign this Amrabat fella before passing judgment. Who knows maybe an average player who gives a shit will do better than so called talented ones who don't.

Seems like I account for half of the bloody monthly donations. Guys, just set up a monthly donation, even a few quid will help the guys out massively. (Also Rob, feel free to message me as I will see if I can help get the costs down as that’s what I do for a living - least I can do for you guys)

Absolutely love it here, don’t post anywhere near as much as I should but those of us who are quieter like me should support financially if we can. Give something back to those who make this such a great community.

Regarding pledges for this year, £5 per deadwood shifted + £10 per signing. Might be an expensive month but whenever I have tempted fate with pledges in the past I’ve always ended up paying. So hopefully for those of us losing our minds once again at the lack of early transfers, we’ll see some good moves late on and my bank balance dwindle. Fun all round… (until my wife sees)

exactly we have a limited number of forward players a few injuries and the goals dry up

Every club has a limited number of forwards... The team top of the league has only one forward and he hardly plays.

It’s the fact that Dan Kilpatrick is reporting our interest & our engangement. Dan is EXTREMELY reliable. Him & Ally Gold are as close to 100% nailed on reliability for Tottenham as one can be.

Poor teams signing a certain calibre of player is not any other team signing the “quality additions” you speak of.

Some perspective is required.
Yes, there's perspective but I'm confident that Coutinho, Digne and Trippier would likely start or have had a decent amount of games for us between now and the end of the season if they arrived. Also - Chris Wood would have been an ok back up for Kane in some games, but not for the money Newcastle paid. He'd also have been better than any back up we have had for Kane in the no.9 spot.

It all depends if Conte is happy to sign them. Conte has signed tons of underwhelming players in his time who have fitted in well to his system and squad.

Amrabat for sure is no world beater but if he is all we can get in CM for now to tie us over until summer then he's better than nothing.

Conte said in his PM presser last match "January is difficult and there are some opportunities, sometimes not the best opportunities but we have to do something as the squad isn't so big".

Amrabat is probably the type of signing he means whereby he is obviously no Kessie but if Conte thinks he will help us out from now until end of the season and then next summer we go for say Kessie/McKennie or whoever and bring in Sarr then that could be the strategy.

From Conte's quotes I really think we will sign at least 2 players, Traore and a CM and quite possibly a 3rd if another 'opportunity' comes up and we can agree to move on GLC, TN and DA etc.

This all being said, if we are trying to flog Ndombele to PSG then I'd rather we got Winjaldium than Amrabat if possible.

But I'm relaxed and Paratici won't be signing players Conte doesn't want or agree on so whatever we think of any of these signings there will be a reason that we are signing them as part of a wider agreed plan with Conte.
Conte might want him but it depends how that conversation goes. If Paratici tells him we can't get anyone in the door apart from this guy then he might say "yeah fine". And then he could use him like Mourinho used Gedson and give him 2 games. Just because he agrees to the signing it doesn't necessarily mean much.

Conte WANTS someone better than Hojbjerg. He'd take someone to alternate with Hojbjerg. He's probably getting someone who can cover for Hojbjerg.

At least we can possibly look forward to Traore Tuesday to lighten up the mood a bit.

Everyone needs to just relax and stop stressing about January signings.

The plan was always to clear the deadwood and wasters out to make way for a bigger summer. Perspective is needed and a longer term view, rather than short term.

Conte has said plenty of times. We need to be patient. Yes we could miss top 4, and yes we have a chance. I trust in Conte to push us to top 4 somehow, and even if we don't make it, his name is big enough to get us big name signings in the summer.

His pedigree alone will get us top players, as top players know what Conte is capable of. Conte isn't really about the CL, he is more of a league title winner.

If it means we lose out top 4 and get rid of the wasters in the club, but have a huge summer and a potential title hunt next season. Give me that any day of the week.

Has there been much talk of players we want on pre agreed contracts? Before their contract run out in the summer.

I am sure there was something saying if we can get players we want signed up but can't get them now it would impact who we go for now (I guess more loan deals for 6 months)

Think people need to calm down. We weren’t fixing our issues in one window, Conte isn’t dumb and knows that. It’s going to make the summer that much more important (and difficult), but there’s nothing to say we can’t get 3 more in to at least give some more options, albeit maybe one really weird/lame one in Amrabat.

We could fix enough issues to help us get top four this season though. Who knows what will happen in the summer and between the start of next season and next January. At the moment we are in a pretty decent position to push on for fourth. Get it and the summer is much easier, don’t and I suspect we will be looking at the window a lot differently.

But we haven't cleared any deadwood? And the players being linked away are on loan so come the summer they'll all be back!

But who can we get that

  • We can afford the transfer fee for
  • Can afford the wages for
  • The player wants to come to Tottenham
  • If not first team player would he want to join as back up?
