A quiet week then. How exciting. Hopefully ending next Monday when we announce a new takeover, a secret new stadium that has already been built, a new manager and new backroom staff plus the addition of 5 new players. And to top it all off...we'll have somehow managed to sell Giovani Dos Santos.

There's no way in the world that Ajax would let that happen. Vertonghen has a great relationship with Ajax and I doubt that they'd want to part company in those kind of circumstances; his last season would be unpleasant to say the least. They might not get exactly what they want, but they'll let him go.

RAWK will be a good laugh if we sign Sigurdsson. They have a 70+ page thread on him, and seem to be adamant that the only reason he's not signed for them yet is that he's on his holidays.

Co-incidentally I just tried to go onto RAWK to see what they were saying, and their site is barred in my work as it "is known to be a website with high risk of malware/spyware"

If it was he'd be on the OS holding his shirt up in the air.

I'm sure we'll sign him - but at the moment there is clearly a hold up for some reason - and it is most certainly not 'done'.

Being fairly new round here, can I just ask, with absolutely no disrespect meant at all, what has JJ actually done to be so highly regarded?

I understand the wording of that makes it sound like I don't think he should be, but that's really not how I want it to sound!

I firmly believe, if the signs and ITK of the takeover are true then they will announce this, the new manager. a couple of new signings and the shirt in one go.

I said exactly the same to my mate this morning. I am convinced at some point during the coming week, or maybe even not until 1st July, there will be a big press conference announcing manager, at least 3 big signings (my guess would be Vertonghen, Sigurdsson and Adebayor) maybe even more if the Modric saga has also been bought to some conclusion in the meantime, and now if rumours are to be believed possibly a takeover.
I've just got this feeling Levy will have concluded the majority of our business in one go, so all uncertainty can be put to bed in one shot, hence the delays so far, getting all our business done on the quiet. Suddenly, those doubting him, will be doing a big old u-turn.

More or less been correct in everything he has said. From Ryan Nelson signing to the opening premiership fixtures before they were released officially.
