A quiet week then. How exciting. Hopefully ending next Monday when we announce a new takeover, a secret new stadium that has already been built, a new manager and new backroom staff plus the addition of 5 new players. And to top it all off...we'll have somehow managed to sell Giovani Dos Santos.

I think 1st July will be the pivotal date (or possibly 2nd July as that is the Monday) for getting everything sorted I reckon. A quiet week is in store, maybe a few whispers, but nothing will be concrete.

Pre-season training starts next week and I am sure Levy will want it sorting for that.

Seems fairly obvious, reading between the lines, that Ajax and Vertonghen are haggling over how much of a pay-out Vertonghen gets from Ajax - percentage of the transfer fee, loyalty bonus etc. Seems to have hit a standstill. Hence the repeated information that it's almost done, it's not our fault, and that he wants to come.

I'm just thinking of how we would line up with Sigurdsson. We will have 3 central attacking midfielders in VDV, Sigurdsson and Pienaar, all imo are best played in the central attacking role behind the striker. Will this result in VDV playing in from the left?

Personally I would rather we signed a right sided forward like Remy and keep VDV in his best position. Not that I would complain if we sign Sigurdsson because he's a quality player. Just not 100% convinced he's what we need. Unless he's happy to play 2nd fiddle to VDV which very much doubt.
