Jasper on SO last night

Just confirming what others have said

That pleases me if true. Out of the 2 I would prefer to Keep Ade. Respect Defoe and all he has done for us over the years, but time for him to move on while we can still get an English premium price for him.

I'd hate to go on holiday not knowing what I'm coming back to.
Know what you mean I'd hate to go on holiday not knowing if I'm playing for Spurs or Barcelona, lol
Seriously though you're right it'll be before not after although I guess he'll be late back to pre season so may not start against Palace.
I know its obtuse nut the silence is a positive for me.

If Defoe is sold, are we getting one more striker? I dont really want to see us having limited options on forwards again.

Always thought Hudd might do well in Italy or Spain. He's obviously talented but the brutally fast pace of the Premiership will never suit his game. Just hope he doesn't end up at Stoke. He deserves better than that.

IMO it is quite clear that the plan is to get a striker who is already in his peak (Villa, Soldado etc) and then a younger striker who can be 3rd choice and grow with the club (Rebic, Vydra etc).

Think Grey fox and spurvert had a quick exchange about it last night. It's in the lamela thread. He's a proper player so thought it worth mentioning as it sounded like he was potentially an option as Bernard's price just keeps going up.
It's obviously spam though so I'll just talk about sexual deviancy or slag off some of our players instead haha

Grey Fox did mention something at some point I think and I have Spurvert has mentioned him to me, however I don't think they have had an exchange about, but instead others were discussing the info

I'd like to see that, he's quite possibly the most gifted passer of the ball in th prem but maybe isn't a fit with us although with a clever striker to make the right runs he might have. Good call Italy.

Maybe Im sentimental but would love to see JD, Daws Thudd and BAE stay and win a trophy with us next season. They have been/are good servants to the club and deserve to have some of the glory glory (if it comes) after being with us through so much of the dross. Oh well....... blows nose and dries eyes.

Such unwarranted superlatives for someone who delivers so little.

And the myth that somehow Huddlestone will turn to Pirlo because the tempo is slightly slower is also hugely exaggerated as displayed in the Europa League this season - he just doesn't have the quickness of mind or of feet to ever command a game from the middle of the park nor dictate the tempo.

Don't have a preference where he goes so long as someone actually comes in and takes him.

Would be a superstar in a Serie A team.

Such bollocks.

Such an unbelievably lazy cliche. One of the whole reasons Serie A has come back to fruition again is they have upped the tempo and no longer play like the 'typical' Italian sides of years gone by.

keeping Adebayor makes little sense to me, he will not be first choice so will be bench sitting most the season barring cups, injuries etc and will become a right royal pain in the arse and we all saw last season if he doesn't play regularly (and I will be kind) how ineffective he is.
Given his wages and length of contract, if we do manage to bring in one or possibly two strikers then I would be very surprised if Levy doesn't move heaven and earth to get shot of him.
The trouble will be finding someone who will want him, best option would be the rich clubs in poor leagues like Russia or Turkey who like to make this type of signing.

Why? Who have we signed to replace him?
