Benzema

he looks like the closest thing to Rooney, bar Rooney whenever I've seen him (admittedly not that much). So as long as Spurs don't get a world cup team we'll be fine!

With Benzema's recent scandals, I really can't see Levy sanctioning a move for him. PR nightmare waiting to happen.

I have no doubt we'll be able to come to a deal with Celtic over Keane. Remember Joe Lewis and Dermot Desmond play golf together. Those two and Magnier and McManus are reported to play for £100k a hole!

So Fabiano and Diarra today then, and another forward (or two) by Tuesday.

Not bothered about Pletikosa now that Cudicini is clearly match fit again.

I couldn't have imagined myself saying this a year ago but if any of our strikers are to go then I really think Defoe should head the list, probably alongside Keane.

Having payed perhaps more attention than usual to his performances I really think he is the most replaceable forward we have. Assuming Fabiano or KJH (or both) come in they, in my mind, would almost directly replace JD as they both play a similar poachers role. Whilst I'm not Pav's biggest fan I think he could be the ideal person to partner Fab or KJH in that No. 9 role. As for Crouch, I think he pretty much guaranteed his stay last night. Besides he really is becoming a big game player and could turn our to be our Champions League hero.

So yeah, for me I would bring in Fab and KJH and get rid of Defoe and Keane.

I think that would give us an excellent squad. But I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Levy try and pull off one major coup that he didn't even think we possible before. Really I think that if we can get those three it will make us a serious threat and make other teams sit up and notice. Another striker of world class talent and with the ability to link up play/hold up the ball would push us into title contenders or Champions League outside shots.

Only two who fit that bill really are Dzeko and Ibra.

That ITK or more opinion? hopefully the first??!!

Oh sorry mate, its easy to forget sometimes that hopeless optimism can be interpreted as ITK! I'll try to make it clearer in the future

nothing I've heard directly relating to Benzema, but wouldn't surprise me if we made a big marquee signing (asides from Fabiano)... it would be the one kept under the cosh though, so I think a marquee signing would come more or less out of the blue.

I think that it is a decent addition on loan. Better to have that extra cover in the keeper department. Really Gomes is made of glass and could go down at any time as shown yesterday so that would leave only Anwick as backup. Alnwick has never looked at all comfortable for us and I don't think he is going to make the grade, so if Gomes struggles with his broken toenail then I would rather be in the safer hands of Cudicini and Pletikosa.

Not so much a striker as such, but with Citeh desperate to get rid I really think we should put in a cheeky loan bid for Robinho. That lad is crying out to work for an "arm around the shoulder" manager like Harry. With Gomes and Sandro here already I think Spurs would be the ideal club for Robinho to finally flourish

True.

I know he's still training with the club, but Alnwick doesn't even have a contract with us any more.

Pletikosa as the new Cerny is fine by me, just not a priority compared to getting some forwards in!

In other ITK news, I pulled out of my street this morning and saw a car with the reg... "AD10 EPF"

I'm taking this as a good omen.

Seriously, the balance of our team is already quite good. We've got cover for every position from GK, DF and MF, and we have class players in these departments. I think just one solid striker (Fabiano) should be enough, with Keane moving out.

But we should move out Hutton and Jenas soon, I'm concerned about their 'perceived' value if we keep them again for half or 1 season.

In: Fabiano
Out: Keane, Hutton, Jenas

would be a great transfer window for us

I had wonderd recently with all the talk of Fabiano and a young proven forward if we might be on for a cheeky look at Brazils front two

Kevin Bond on Talksport when asked about Fabiano and Huntelaar: "those names are new to me" - he did however say that harry "had a few ideas about what he wanted to do - but it depended on getting a few players out"....

Sorry but for me it would be Pav first out the door. He have given him so many chances when he's produced moments of brilliance, give him half a chance and half the time he'll score a blinder. It's what he does when he's not scoring that frustrates me so much. When he can on last night we were passing around, keeping the ball and not panicking like seasoned pro's. But everytime the ball when to Pav he turned and ran at a defender and lost it. :bang:

I would love Daniel Levy to pull something else off aswell. I doubt anymore big names will go this late in the wondow though.

Huntelaar and Fabiano have been available at the right price all summer. Both Man City and Real Madrid are needing to shift a few players aswell. We wont get any City players and Diarra is the only Madrid one I would imagine. Other than that I don't see any more big names going anywhere.

So maybe someone 23-26 years old who is an untried. I would go for a wide striker over a number 9 myself as we don't have a wide striker, but we do have a number 9 in Crouch.

I think that's bollocks. He was on the squad against Stoke wasn't he? So he must have a contract.
