Pipping Liverpool, PSG, and Real Madrid to Bellingham would be some statement.
It really would. And I hate to be that guy, but I’d be amazed if we pulled it off. Liverpool fans are adamant that he’s going there next summer. His family (and he himself) are Liverpool fans.

I would loved to be able to see their reaction if we signed him…. But history tells me, we have an extremely low chance.

but regardless…… can’t believe we are getting Jude!!!! ?

That’s why it won’t happen. If we were really intent on signing him this window he would have been our main target. Not an afterthought towards the end of the window .

yup very much a splunk the money on the table and run type situation. Enough where they wouldn't need to start a bidding war type money

Dragon on coys

Conte wants 3 more In and big players not Spence like future signings

the interest in zaniolo is real and he’s ahead of maddison in the pecking order but it will be one of those two not both And as I’ve said all summer he wants another big name center half in

a lot depends on shifting the 4 who stayed behind on the Korea trip gio looks first to go , winks we have offers in the 15 range when someone goes to 20-25 he will go , reg a couple of Spanish teams sniffing but nothing firm yet , Tanguy we have zero interest In as yet

we have interest in Jude Bellingham But will be a massive deal in 80-90 million range , the 4 will have to go with decent fees for all plus tanganga etc To fund it

Bellingham is never going to happen in a million years imo, he will have his pick of every top club in Europe & even if even if we gad a bid accepted wed have another diaz situation where we get pipped by a more glamorous proposition.

I am going to say, this is the fanciful part of the window, where we looked at really expensive players, but just could not agree on a deal.

I am a little surprised, and nervous, that Conte still wants 3 more 1st team signings - ie not Udogie. I just can't see that kind of business being done, particularly how difficult it appears to be to even shift our deadwood, let alone at good prices.

agreed, but the info is from dragon and he’s alwyas been a bit hit & moss hasn’t he? Soon as we hear from trix, h88 etc saying the same I wouldn’t worry too much.

That’s great ITK. Super interesting and definitely aligns with Conte wanting to go for the title. Bellingham would be a statement signing but also would transform our midfield.

To be honest I would hope we did have interest in Bellingham everybody else has.
About as likely as £25m for Winks though.

It's almost as if I didn't provide a thread for all this. At first it confused me. Then I remembered who I was dealing with. That's on me, I've just spent half an hour in the company of two seven year olds and forgot to dumb down my expectations accordingly when I returned.

Who on earth is paying £25m for Winks when he barely features for us?
I’m not someone who goes in for all the Winks hate on here, but I think 15m seems pretty reasonable for someone who’s a bit part player who we’ve pretty publicly made clear doesn’t have a role next season.

Where have you read that? I met him when he was a youth player with his dad(or might have been his uncle when I think about it), I was a guest at a game with an agent who had an interest in trying to sign him. It was all very informal, but I'm sure they were both BCFC???

I'll just add to this Liverpool 100% tried to sign him from BCFC, and he chose Dortmund.

No way that happens. He's destined for one of the clubs in the tier above us

The idea we hold on to him expecting a better offer the next window is flawed.
I don't think that is what Dragon is saying though.

My interpretation is that if an offer of 20-25 arrived this morning it would be accepted. That doesn't mean that as we get later in the window an offer of 15 wouldn't be accepted then to get him off the books. At a guess I would say that the valuation of Winks is probably a little different to the others due to being HG and therefore an easier one to stomach if he stays.

It wouldn't surprise me if those outgoings don't happen until later on and if they don't fetch decent money, which probably scuppers the chance of a third incoming. But if we manage to bring in another attacked and CB I think that's good going.

Cheers as always to the ITKs and those who whore them in!

We had a dabble too didn’t we, the year before that. It came up once he’d moved to dortmund in a few articles (used to bash us that we had lowballed Birmingham so missed out when in reality he wanted to stay there).
Every top club was in for him, and every top agent was trying to represent him. I've never seen a bigger buzz around a teenager ever.

Bellingham is probably one of, potentially even the only , players in the world that could actually play better than Barella in the advanced CM role for Conte.

On Liverpool, their plan was to blow their load on Bellingham this summer, but were quickly informed that Dortmund had zero interest in selling him this summer after losing Haaland. Due to this, Liverpool then decided to move on and blow their load on Darwin Nunez.

So this is where we might actually have a chance. If for whatever reason Dortmund and Bellingham have had to change their minds about selling this summer, I think Liverpool would actually be financially out of the race.
