Striker was the most essential position this window so we don't send kane off to the glue factory. Suggesting otherwise is just blowing levy for the sake of it.

I agree we need a striker and have done for the last few windows. I would even say we need a proper DM but to say the window would be a disaster? Really?

I am not panicking about the window and very relaxed about it all.

We have been able to do some great business so far and just need those last few players, but of course there are lots of people involved on all sides. We still have several days to go.

I have sympathy for Levy, as it's not easy to sell players for various reasons.

I was only questioning whether Josh King was the right option for the type of striker we needed (i.e. 'right profile' as Hercules put it).

If we hadn't signed Bale then I would get it. I just think there were other options like Milik and Weghorst, just to name two, who I thought would be better, not because King wasn't a good player.

Let's see what happens, but it's all part of the fun of the window.

Rüdiger and SSN#Lyall? Chavs would want a fair packet for him=meh>>Really super close on our preferred CH? (I know anything could happen). Nah? Rüdiger=agents at work. And don’t they love SSN?

We simply MUST sign a striker.

Skriniar will be a superb addition, should we be able to get it done but we cannot get to the end of the window without a striker sorted.

Rudigers agent is trying to get a raise for him, We are looking good for getting our top choice CB (could Skriniar or someone else)

Heart warming stuff.

Two players away from a remarkable window

It makes sense that some fringe players are still here to help with the fixture pile up. Once we get to the weekend, then I think we might see more players leave

I think you’re saying we’ve almost signed our first choice centre back, which is good news.

As for the Rudiger thing, doesn’t seem likely really does it ?

Like but still think striker more important.

We have options at the back esp if Foyth doesnt go but no so much up front
This transfer window seems to have given priority to our starting 11. Hojbjerg, Dougherty, Reguilon Bale and Skriniar all slot into a starting position if healthy.

It's not that it's not coming back in October, it's that no one knows when it's going to end. This could we'll be the entire season, and even beyond
Yea it’s a huge issue. For another thread but be interesting to know the revenue breakdown % by income stream e.g. tv money vs match day revenue vs sponsorship etc and then perhaps that % drop off is the % cut off our transfer budget, main thing is we just can’t seem to shift our players, I just can’t believe we’ve not had offers for some of the guys Jose has made it clear are up for sale as a lot of them are good solid pro’s and players so makes me wonder is it Levy asking for too high a transfer fee or is it the players wages are high and buying clubs cant afford it or do the players just not want to go to the teams that are interested in them a la Rose.

Either way going to be a crazy last 2 days of the window, possibly like none other before.

As for D1’s info, if Josh King is cheapest on our list of 5 thats pretty promising as I’d certainly be happy with him given he knows the league, can play up top or wide. Fingers cross Daniel can get some clubs to bite on some 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 last minute deals like when Harry redknapp bought 3 players from us think it was mendes pamarot and Sean Davis, he famously said they only wanted Davis I think it was but levy said no you need to take the other 2 as well lol, let’s hope for some of that creativity this week.

Thanks for the info tr ix and @Hercules .

I like the idea that we should hold off any other signings until a striker is signed. If that were the case we would of missedout on Bale. It isn't a case of we can only negotiate for one position at a time, other signings haven't impacted on our persuit of a striker.
Totally agree.

Some absolute saggy bed wetters in here today.

FFS the window is still open, and we've filled most of the gaps in the squad already.

Skriniar seems almost done, and José has been adamant about getting a striker in to the press, it will happen.
