Ok, thanks. Think I see what it meant now. Striker likely target is changeable, perhaps as clubs get desperate they lower demands and playeds come back into our range, or else other transfers elsewhere alter the players on the market.

A very good window is close to turning into a disaster if we don’t manage to sign a striker, hopefully we can sell before the deadline to sign one.

I respectfully disagree
Disaster?! Really?

We’ve signed a quality LB, Bale can play up front, Gio seems to be firing on nearly all cylinders, N’dom, seems to follow Gio, we’ve got a good RB......should I go on?

I agree a ST and CB would be the icing on the cake but I wouldn’t call it a disaster!

I've said something like this before and it's not meant in a bad way but when you're concluding a deal with an Italian company you haven't agreed the deal until at least the day after you think you have, there's always something else, it's good fun. What I take from Hercules' latest ITK is that's where we are and it's a good thing because we couldn't be any closer to completion. For what it's worth I'm wearing my confident hat.

Striker was the most essential position this window so we don't send kane off to the glue factory. Suggesting otherwise is just blowing levy for the sake of it.

DM and RB were the most essential position for this window.
And looks like Mourinho is happy to spend another 40-50m on Skriniar after Reguilon and Bale. It's not like that he said bring for example Wilson for 20m last month but Levy is refusing to spend...

This is what worries me, define "value". A lot of players are going for cheap now, if Levy is going to be stubborn and hold out for at least what we paid for our deadwood, we may be in trouble. We have many players that need shifting and we're running out of time.
Yep and we’ve been doing that for years. Just need them off our books.

PSG#Dele talks genuine. Been going on for couple weeks now. Cannot go into details, but Conte likes him also, but rule that one out for now. Ideally loan with option, and not obligation is the talks. DL himself does not really want to sell him, unless we get our figure. Will not reveal it here.

It’s logical that the striker comes last... Doch, PEH, Bale, Reg & Skriniar all greatly improve the first 11. The striker is for depth, so options will be more flexible in Levy’s mind.
The only spanner in the works of course is the ridiculous fixture list, which isn’t our fault... it’s Arsenal’s... the *****!
I’m delighted thus far and am chilling as the mighty Herc suggests! Thanks as always to all the ITK guys!

Interesting that Herc confirms the seriousness of the Dele talks - obviously not just a speculative enquiry. I'd imagine that most reasonable fans would accept/be happy with him departing if it meant getting Skriniar AND one of the upper level strikers we've been linked with, rather than (for example) Seferovic ???

Maybe I should have been more specific with my wording, overall yes we have had a fantastic window & not signing a striker won’t change that.

However it’s absolutely imperative we sign a striker this window as it’s a key hole in the squad we need to fill & failure to do so will be a disaster in itself.

History shows we have injury prone forwards in Kane & Bale so we can’t solely rely on them, especially with more matches to play this season with the EL.

And there is still a week left. Analyse all you like next Tuesday morning. But until then business can still be done.

I consider myself a reasonable fan, not happy at all at the prospect of Dele departing....

That’s why I originally said hopefully we can sell players to have the funds to complete the deals we need.

I was responding to the notion that not signing a striker wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Would really prefer loan with our option to bring him back. I don't think we should give up on him. Given the choice between having him and Lucas in the squad I know who I'd choose.
