You've got to think at this stage there's going to have to be some serious movement very soon on outgoings based on Trix's info there.

For those who aren't aware, though, there are two deadline days this window (unless things have changed in the last week) - the headline "transfer deadline day" this window is October 6th, however, there is a domestic-only window up until October 16th for permanent and loan signings between English clubs, including both Premier League and EFL.

EDIT: 1st one is October 5th, not 6th
Exactly, so still chance for a Rasiak signing if we're desperate

Already had chat with A&C on it... I'd posted long ago about it in the Deeney thread. Was just making comment in here in reference to someone saying they were glad the Deeney rumour was dead.
That was me, I was responding to a poster who was still running with the Deeney thing.
Thanks for confirming.

Fantastic news regarding Škriniar, will hopefully make a huge difference to us as a defensive unit.

Also great/terrible news that we may/may not sign anyone else this window depending on if you're surprised/not surprised.

Shame ValenciaYid doesn't post here anymore. Being in Spain his info was always an hour ahead of the info we got in the UK too.

FWIW I'm hearing the same as VY regarding Skrinier.

I'd also be surprised if a striker isn't done this window, although I'd be just as surprised if that wasn't all we get in.
Maybe it's how it's written, maybe it's another case of people only reading what they want to read but I'm saying a CB a CF and that is probably it.

If Dele goes? Looking likely, hoping to bring in another midfielder. Preference UK-based. If overseas will have to of moved on Foyth at least

EDIT: Hoping! Not guaranteed we will bring in! But trying!

Interesting that Herc confirms the seriousness of the Dele talks - obviously not just a speculative enquiry. I'd imagine that most reasonable fans would accept/be happy with him departing if it meant getting Skriniar AND one of the upper level strikers we've been linked with, rather than (for example) Seferovic ???
Maybe I’m not reasonable ?. But I still believe there’s a player in Dele, and really hope he will stay and pick up his talent.

Gutted about Dele tbh. Goalscoring midfielders are rare as fuck. How many goals are we going to get out of Bergwijn and Lucas this season? And it's not that long ago he had a borderline telepathic relationship with Kane. Surely you don't just lose that.

Yeah, although I understand the argument he doesn’t quite fit in to the way we play these days, I have a feeling this is one we are going to regret.

I would be highly satisfied with that.

What are peoples interpretation on Valyid's 'first things first' phrase?

Well considering moura scored at the weekend and both will be backup in a couple of weeks. You have to ask yourself does alli get into our best starting XI. Is he the first option to rotate in. He could have been a 100m asset and has regressed. If we can move him on which we are trying as Per ITK we should. And hope he tears it up wherever he goes and gets his value back. He does not fit into our system and cant see how he does again with our current squad

Probably not for this thread but yeah, Dele has been a great player , and can be again, but I honestly think he can only be a great player in a very specific system (as was the case for a spell under Poch). In any other system, he's just a.n.other good player.

My interpretation is that we probably shouldn't start guessing what it 'could' mean as it will unnecessarily congest this thread.

Interesting indeed. Think this week is going to be a rollercoaster whatever happens, and I'm excited. Feels almost like the Harry days when you didn't have a clue what was happening final week but you knew a few things would just pop out the woodwork last minute. Buckle in everyone!

First we tie up Skriniar (presumably as it’s close to completion), and then we move on to working on a deal for a striker.

Nothing more complicated that that imo.

Which everyone would have been ecstatic with before the window opened along with our other brilliant signings

That'll teach you to deal in double negatives ?
If that's it that ain't bad.
