But the ITK was adamant that he was 100% not going to Liverpool and he definitely wanted to come to us.

And Liverpool ITK say he definetely wanted to go to them and he was never interested in us? It works both ways

Truly ignorant. We are not being carried at all. Bale and vdv are doing wha is expected from players in their positions, particularly vdv who is a forward player - a typical number ten.

We need one player as the cherry on the cake. that player is not out there AND available. Sparring the money we have reserved for tha player n someone who arry is not certain will fit the role will leav us unable t sign the player he really wants when they are available

Where would we be but for Bale and VDV's goals ? Hutton and Lennon would be our top scorers, in terms of goals VDV and Bale have been carrying us because we have 4 strikers who make Jason 'pineapple head' Lee seem like Van Basten this season

I think/hope what he's saying is our strikers THIS season have not done enough to get fourth. Fortunately the seasons not over and maybe they can all pull there heads of there arses and get some goals... Personally I'm bloody concerned that they might not... And Defoe is the only one with any kind of excuse.

Whilst I agree our strikers have been off form Defoe was out for a while and vdv has been outstanding but isn't that what he is meant to do? On the flip side you could say if thf strikers had got the same amount if goals as last season and with vdv and bale we could have been challenging for the title

I love ITK, but it is not always accurate, so to say he 100% wanted to come to us is conjecture. And I am sorry, but technically our strikers are good enough for a top 4 challenge, they are just not firing yet. Defoe for one has hardly had a chance yet.

Like all of you, I want an upgrade, but they have to be the real deal. I am not convinced Suarez was it (for our formation). If VdV is the center of our team then we need a drogba or a torres calibre striker..... will Carroll or llorente be that player? And will we sign one? We shall see...

Who's to say the players that would have played instead of vdv and bale wouldn't have scored or created more?
We wouldn't have been playing with nine men. We may have had a different line u or formation but no one can say we'd have been worse off

Err what's your point? Yes, I think if our strikers had hit the goals they did last year we would be higher in the table. This season they've all been pretty poor and I'm sure they'd be the first to say they've not got nearly enough.

One of the journo's on Sunday Supplement says he had it from a very good source that Spurs have not made a bid for Andy Carroll.

They are not good enough for Top 4 though not even close, we are being carried by Bale and VDV this year and one of them is now injured, Hutton and Lennon have scored more goals than our strikers.

We have Crouch who has got 1 goal per 6 games since he has been here, we have Defoe who has got 4 goals in 12 months, we have a has been Keane and we have Pav who is world class 1 game in 5 and worse than Heskey the other 4, were it not for VDV and Bale we would be fighting off relegation.

How can you say that aren't good enough when they were before. Add to the fact that defoe is only really starting back now so he may well (and he might not) come up with the goods. And was it not around this time last season that Pav hit his purple patch?

I've got bad feelings regarding andy caroll bids, Harry certainly thinks we have bid. He is Harry's number 1 target. But then it is released from insiders we havnt bid. All this after newcastle announce they rejected a bid.

What if levy doesn't want Carroll and is using his friendships up the north east to suggest we are trying for Harry, to no avail, but all the while offering different options in reality!

If this is true, and what with a Newcastle source coming out and saying we have bid for him, IMO leads me to believe they would be willing to sell

A bit unfair to say that our four strikers have scored no goals, because VDV is essentially a striker, so we have one striker scoring goals in the first half this season (as Defoe did last year) and now others have to come to the fore, or VDV can continue as like Pav did in his purple patch last year.

Last year we played 4-4-2 and had two strikers who scored goals for two halves of the season, this year 4-5-1 and so far again, 1 striker (vdv) has dominated with goals, but with Bale chipping in.

Remember Bale didnt play first half of the season last year, we have been in good form recently but last couple of games we have slipped up. But all is not lost at all.

Really tall order to get 4th but bringing in a new striker who will have to hit the ground running especially with no EPL expirience is a tall ask.

matt, with all due respect, you're an idiot! 2 years ago we were all crying out for more goals from our midfielders. Now they've come good and it's used as a negative against our strikers. Our current crop of strikers got us into champions league last year, and I firmly believe they can do it again this year.

I'm also going to make this as clear as I can by typing it in caps. VDV IS PART OF OUR STRIKE FORCE! I believe he has 9 goals so far this season. If vdv hadn't been signed, wed have had someone else playing that position who I believe would have also scored more goals.

All players go through bad spells, but to say our 4 international forwards are shit is just stupid and childish!

Let's hope the only scenario in which this would happen is if Levy is using this as a smokescreen and when that smoke settles Daniel is standing there with a 6" top hat and a big shiny new striker to pull out of it!

I think the fact people know there capable of it is what makes it so frustrating. It's pure desperation why a lot of these rash remarks are being made. I'm not really comfortable, half a season in, "hoping" at least one of our four strikers(if we still have keane) find some sort of form and most importantly goals.... Fingers still crossed Levy pulls something out of the bag.

6"5' top hat would do me nicely ;)

One thing I do wish after this window is that the absolute non-itk, itk'ers, for the sanity of everyone else would do a disappearing act.

Can you imagine if the people who really do have ITK information were the only ones who posted? At least then we would have a better idea of what is really going on, as at the moment, with no names mentioned, I can absolutely guarantee that for every correct piece of information there are 2 wannabees who are stirring up the pot just for a bit of internet fame.

It really would help if the people who are just making things up cleared off and, for the sake of everything good, just let the real information come out, as at presently those 2 guys are causing nothing but trouble and arguments in the world of ITK.

Beware false prophets, you won't see the wood for the trees.
