The Rio rumours are a bloody joke!
I very much doubt united are going to let him go, and he will be thier best defender again next season, and the people here will still be saying 'bullet dodged' as we watch him lift various silverware with united.....
If we are letting Nelson go, and potentially Gallas then an experienced defender would be alot better as cover than, say Caulker, who would gain very little from playing the odd game here and there rather than being on loan.
Signing an experienced player brings alot to the team, but quite a few on here refuse to recognise that and are just using it as a stick to beat Harry with. (it still baffles me when people say Harry should go. I think it must be the same people who just love the volume of signings we make in the following years of transition as we chop and change our managers again and again from Dan's tactical genius' Ramos/AVB to the great world beaters Brendan Rogers/Paul Lambert)
