What Ade does is miss to many chances! So in reality he doesnt score enough. Pretty sure everyone can agree on that.;)

Heard on radio that the Atletico Chairman said that Falcao would go to Real in the Summer.
If true delighted as Chelsea wont get him and if they buy Falcao its unlikely they will be able to afford Bale too

I think you could say the same of Defoe.

2012/13: 86 shots for 10 goals
2011/12: 66 shots for 11 goals

few assists and hold up play

Adebayor:

2012/13: 21 shots for 2 goals
2011/12: 100 shots for 17 goals

more assists and hold up play

Both around 1 goal per 6 shots last year. This year Defoe is 1 in 8, Ade 1 in 10.

Make what you will. we've all got our favourites! ;)

let's not get off on the wrong foot here;

1. does ANY striker score "enough" goals? I'd love to see a player in lilywhite net 50+ in the league...

2. I do love what ade brings to the table when compared to, lets say: Keane. defoe. Rasiak. Crouch. Pav. In fact, all our strikers in the last decade minus Berbs.

3. I don't love ade enough to moan about AVB wanting rid.

**which we don't actually know as fact but is being suggested by some.**

4. I DO LOVE AVB, I DO LOVE TOTTENHAM and I expect the manager to be backed 100% in his plan for the future.

Absolutely.we all love spurs and wants the best for our team. This is why the forum is great isnt it, all different ideas and views up for discussion. And i love to hear different views from people, i mean, hey i might be wrong too isnt it?

Back to ade

1. I would love striker that scores 50goals of course, but what bothers me is his ability to finish clear cut chances. How many times have you seen him shoot straight at keeper? Or try to slot to the side when he can just lift the ball slightly to beat the keeper. If ade could finish these clear cut chances, it would make a world
Of difference to us.

2. I love what he brings too, clearly the best hold
Up striker we have since berba. Yet what im trying to say is that llorente is just as good as hold up, if not better LINK up playee than him. Llorente's ability to play the quick pass before tge defense closes up the space, imo makes a huge difference to the build up.ade brings alot to the table, but imo llorente brings more.

3. No worries

4. Me too man.

And lastly what i want to add is wages AND rotation. Lets just say we do have a new strker coming in. That turns it into a 3 man rotation that we WILL NOT satisfy. One has to go. With ade going, we retain defoe as the "starter", bedding the next big thing in. 1-2 years down the road, defoe will be benched and can be used as an impact sub. His natural scoring ability can be the gamechanger when theres 15mins left. His wages is lower and older, making him the perfecr back up. Kane would be our third, and rotation would be perfect.

On the other hand if we keep ade, we have two towers. Lets just say ade be the starter. In two years time ade would still be good enough to start, but that would hinder thw progress of te new striker. Ade would be too expensive to be benched, and hes too young to be a back up. That would leaves us will 2 stikers, one entering prime and one at the end of prime, holding high wages. We can only play one and we can be sure one would be unsettled.

If they sell CR to ManU they can buy both.

How many times have you seen Leandro play? We have no idea how he's going to fair in the premier league/europe.

Llorente > Ade > Leandro as it stands for me.

My gut feeling only. But im right all of the time about these stuff

Be a hell of a risk to replace adebayor with leandro as he is unproven in the prem, by all means we should sign him but not at the expense of adebayor.

As for llorente, that just isn't going to happen.

Was about to post the same thing. Leandro isn't going to come in and be a starter so makes sense to pick him up this window if possible and give him time to adapt. I would be more than happy with Ade and Defoe with Leandro around the squad too for the rest of the season.

If in the summer Ade wants out then we re-evaluate but for now he is good for us

Then there might actually be some truth in the rumours about us going after Benzema in the summer.

Would seriously jizz myself if we signed him.

it hasn't - they ruled against it this week: it's unconstitutional - but the french PM still wants to push it through.

the french clubs don't care, it's their players who will get hit by any eventual increase.

It was deemed unconstitutional on a technicality (measured wealth by individual and not household, as is mandatory in France) therefore it is easy to rectify and push through.

But even if clubs aren't directly hit by the tax, there is every chance that big name players, or rising stars, will jump ship ASAP. The big loser from all this (in regards to football) is PSG - how will they attract any name player through financial incentives. My guess would be that they will have to place the bulk of the money upfront in a way that the French government can't get at - yet that is highly unprofitable for teams as money is always more valuable now than in the future (ie when we sign a player for 16m over a long time period the transfer does not actually cost us 16m in terms of today's money because of the interest returns we get from the money set aside)

Agree and disagree.

According to this site http://www.ukfooty.org/table/premier-league-table-22nd-january-2012-355/?prev_next=prev#new we had a 12 point lead at the start of February.

The 'lead' is measured between 3rd and 4th place, not between Tottenham and Arsenal, unless you're one of these fans who is obsessed with the North London rivalry to the exclusion of all else.

In February, we had a 7 point lead over Chelsea on a couple of occasions (6/2/12 & 25/2/12) and a 10 point lead over Arsenal once (12/2/12). By 3/3/12, the lead was down to 4 points over Arsenal and it never recovered.

At no time did we have a lead of more than 10 points and that was only once.

For meh

Leandro > Ade > Llorente

Sorry mate, just can't agree with that. Fair enough it's your opinion but have you really watched much of Llorente? As a striker, he's the best out of the 3.

Leandro is young and raw with bags of potential, a good striker already and can become truly world class.

Ade is the most well balanced out of the 3 and can contribute in a deeper role but he's nowhere near good enough a finisher to be our focal point of attack. He's worthy of a top 4 team whereas the other 2, Llorente in particular, are worthy of a title winning team.

This, all day long.

Llorente and Adebayor would have ridiculous records playing for Internacional in the Brasilian league and the weird, regional division ( which is of an awful standard ) where Damiao seems to bump his figures right up.
