His statement was echoed by the Porto Alegre club's vice-president, Luciano Davi, who believes that every strike Damiao nets will bring about another bid.

"With each goal that he scores, there is a bit of horror. If a proposal comes, Inter will look at it," he said.

I certainly won't be getting too excited. JJ has been positive before on signings and we've been disapppointed (not JJ's fault I hasten to add) and I certainly think we're getting ahead of ourselves if we're expecting Adebayor + Leandro + 3 others before the start of the season.

I think it's sensible to assume that the only new players that will be playing against Newcastle will be Vertonghen and Sigurdsson.

season starts in less than 2 weeks, I'm pretty much resigned to the fact the Defoe will be leading the line at newcastle.

And another little push of positivity from JJ. Wonder how it feels to be able to dictate the mood of the people in this forum, or even the 1500 followers on twitter? Next we will hear 'fallen through' and the cycle will begin again!

Anyway, I have always believed it was the Olympics holding up a signing or two, for what it's worth my money is on Leandro....

JJetset said "It actually could get better than that and that is what I've been alluding to...."

Now that could be interpreted in many ways, and here's one that occurred to me. What's better than finding a replacement ... and that is to not lose the original. Could it be that Modric could be pursuaded to stay by the signing of two top strikers? That would be good, if he was willing.

A bit far fetched, or optimistic, yes, but would be good if it came to pass! :cautious:

Some great potential news from JJ last night. Leandro would be a great addition and if Ade finally signs as well then things would indeed be looking good up front.

Can only see one of them signing before the Newcastle game, but we never know, could be both.

Add to that JJ's other info and what Ryan said yesterday about top countries players and the future could be very, very bright.

The future is lilywhite! Coys! COYS! COYS!

Santos aren't selling Neymar and if they do it will be for £40/50m+

Oh and then there's the issue of wages - he's on more than almost any other player in the world at Santos. They closed down their reserve and women's teams this year so they could afford to continue to pay his wages.

I think he's being sarcastic BS

"There will be offers for Leandro Damiao, no doubt about that. He has already rejected offers in the last few years.
"Oscar, for example, only left because there was no way we could keep him.
"I hope they get the gold medal. Leandro Damiao, Oscar, Juan and Pato deserve it. May Leandro Damiao win the gold and return to help us.
"I'll think about him when he gets back."

quote from Internacional vice-president Luciano Davi - suggests nothing happening before Brazil exit the Olympics, so if this happens looks more and more like a end of window deal

I think Chelsea showed us how to deal with these guys. If you want your man, quickly and without fuss, offer us what we want. If Levy can't / won't do that it's time to move on. I have no idea who else is out there (haven't played fm for a few months ;) ), but I'm sure AVB and Levy will have other options

Are we all agreed that Leandro is world class? Everytime I see him play he seems to be better than before.

I don't think he's world class, as a footballer, but I think he's got good timing. He's got a good instinct for being in the right place at the right time, and as a striker, that's a good instinct to have. He reminds me a bit of Shearer in his game, build and style.

He's a long way from being proven world class though. If he was, I doubt we'd be able to sign him.

I'm surprised JJ is being this giddy about what would be a huge deal for us, when it's clearly not done yet. I'd have thought he'd have learned a lesson about getting carried away from last time, and would exercise a little more caution. He seems a different character since he started up his Twitter account - much more eager to please and be in the spotlight. Shame, I think, as I used to absolutely set my watch by his information. Now, I'm less confident in it.

This.

So far this window I've been up and down more times than John Terry on a team-mate's wife, however today I'm wearing my pessimistic frown face. Maybe it's because it's a Monday morning, maybe it's because I'm a miserable ****. whatever it is I just don't feel excited about positive ITK at the moment as it just seems like we've been here countless times before.

Chelsea can though just right off tens, or more like hundreds of millions when they make a mistake we cant.
