I feel like this D-day thing may be as simple as correlating to the Martial article last night that had us meeting Man Utd officials today. D-day for Martial and Toby negotiations, the club will have a much clearer idea of where it all stands after today
We are storming the beach. Ed Woodward is a Son of a Beach. I can get behind this logic.

I think A&C is adding a striker to his name. instead of Archibald & Crooks it's going to be Archibald, Crooks & Defoe. AC&D

I wasnt going to bother mentioning this as it might be nothing, but as we had the possible French reference 'D-Day' in today's opener...

When I first saw the opening sentence of A&C's post in yesterday's itk thread I thought the first letters might be an anagram - and initially saw "croissant". But then realised there was no R. Could have been another French word though: "consista", meaning "involved".

On D-Day, British and Americans joined together to storm the beaches of Normanday. Have a feeling this cryptic might be Pulisic joining us. Or could be an American currently in France joining us(Tim Weah, George’s son, comes immediately to mind - he’s been angling for more chances at PSG or a move)

I don't want to piss in your cornflakes but "consista" is never a French word. Spanish or Italian maybe, but not French.

You obviously learned a different version of French to me.

Some people just seem to love cryptics which even when solved tell you nothing. I am just hoping we might get some solid ITK one day soon
You do know that the cryptics are based on actual solid ITK and not just randomly thought up to keep us amused...

There are two ways of looking at this. Either we hold all the cards in the Toby/Martial deal, or we're in a real catch 22. The sticking point is De Ligt.

United (Jose) want rid of Martial because in his opinion he isn't good enough.

We seemingly want rid of Toby for not signing his contract and being a twat about it.

If we don't sell Toby, we keep an outstanding defender who will be forced to work his bollocks off to get back in the good graces of Poch and his teammates and can still integrate into a productive member of the squad. Martial has openly been called shit by his manager. There's no coming back from that.

If we've put all our eggs in the De Ligt basket then we need to get an agreement with them, before making it public, whilst swapping Toby/Martial and then announcing De Ligt as his replacement. #Levy'd
