It's actually great to know that Poch is happy with what he has, we all know what our weak areas were last season and we still finished only a few points off champions league even having a coach with a don't try to lose approach and a Harry Redknapp clone with no tactics. MM will be a good signing and we have the players to play the way Poch wants, not many upgrades needed and they are all relatively young. Looking forward to the season :)

I just hope our new centre half is up to it - size, strength, awareness. Time will tell I guess. Still think MS will probably happen too which I'd like especially if he is a MP man.

Love it if we could keep the thread a little more 'ITK players linked' as opposed to some random _ _ _ _ _ _ (insert name here) who we've not even been connected to by our sources. :)

Good news on MM, think that will prove to be a shrewd little purchase.

Still very hopeful on Morgan though.

Thats the ITK I like to hear.

Not only because it's clear, but it's the message behind it that speaks volumes.

The manager being happy, must absolutely mean that the players are showing the right attitude and buying into the gaffer's 'brand' of football - surely that can only be a good thing for any manager/club.

Either that, or it's on the charm offensive to say we aren't looking (stop the rumours), but we secretly maybe looking/playing games to shock a few clubs that we aren't looking to spend further (ala Southampton).

The twists, turns and conspiracies!

I'd guess that we will probably bring Musacchio in and then focus on some outgoings before concentrating on getting Schneiderlin towards the end of the window, with Rodriguez or an alternative LWF (Depay) targeted in January.

I'm very happy that we look to adress CB before anything else. Absolute top priority after the shambles last season, along with LB, which have been nicely covered now. MS will indeed be a bonus, but I'm pretty sure it depends on striking deals for 1 or 2 CM's to leave then. Getting MM in, in addition to Davies and Vorm, and new long-term deals for Hugo and Jan V, would be an outright excellent window :)

Despite his apparently making everything up as he went along, Tim averaged almost as many points per game as Harry and AVB in the first 22 games of the two preceding seasons, and fractionally more than Everton managed. Tactics-free zone or not, he clearly got more right than he's widely credited for. That makes me reasonably confident that a coach who has a plan might well be able to bridge the 7-point gap between us and Arsenal (in fact, when you recall how we dominated possession in both games against Arsenal last season without being able to convert that superiority into goals, it's eminently achievable).

I'd imagine alot will be dependent on who we are able to shift out of the club.

If Sandro departs then our desire to push forward a deal for Schneiderlin increases and even though I would still expect to see him through the door by the end of the transfer window, all this talk of Depay, Remy, Bony etc all seems very fanciful and quite clearly, we will patient enough to wait for J-Rod which seems to appease all parties at this moment in time.

Getting Musacchio in though is a big plus - cannot be understated.

Great news on MM.

MS going to the wire by the sounds of it. At least it wasn't ruled out :woot:

Probably need to shift one or two though.

Our real problem is getting rid of excess.

There are so few links on clubs interested in our players, I imagine we'll be loaning like Wonga on the last day.

Agreed but happily there's been no ITK on it today :)

*Attempt to nip in the bid several pages of who people would sell and why, which was all done after The Goat's snippet.

I thought a few of the itks were saying we have had a lot of bids but it seems to be the players not wanting to go to said clubs that is the problem.

JJs words about Poch being happy with the squad is why I wanted him in the first place. He showed at Southampton that he is proper coach. Happy to work with the players he is given with the aim of improving them and getting them playing to his system. A perfect coach for a club that has a structure like ours.
