I thought a few of the itks were saying we have had a lot of bids but it seems to be the players not wanting to go to said clubs that is the problem.
Yes, they did.
Agreed but happily there's been no ITK on it today :)

*Attempt to nip in the bid several pages of who people would sell and why, which was all done after The Goat's snippet.

So are we just to talk about Musacchio today? Seems like he's the focal point of ITK! :)

I think the closer it gets to deadline day the said players will probably have a rethink and could be more willing to leave.

Our real problem is getting rid of excess.

There are so few links on clubs interested in our players, I imagine we'll be loaning like Wonga on the last day.

Think there will be some serious chats going on over the next week or so. Make some aware about where they truly are in the pecking order. I think home truths will finally get through and it will all be about the nature of these one to one's.

I understand that the ITK (Goat) said it was difficult shifting some of these guys (at that time), but it's about the way it's put to them and their security within the squad. As a 'reserve' standard player it is easy to be told how valuable you are or conversely told you don't really have a future at the club. If you are told that you are 3rd choice for your perceived position then surely you would finally see the light?

There has also been ITK that says there have been bids. Maybe it takes a bit of time for the player himself to get his head around it. I can't though believe unsolicited/aggressive bids come in for our players without at least the agents having a full knowledge beforehand.

As it happens, I have not seen a huge amount of players leaving from one club for another yet though during this whole window. Quite a few purchases but not that many departures to date.

[Edit] - Ooops, consider it nipped! Soz!

JJs words about Poch being happy with the squad is why I wanted him in the first place. He showed at Southampton that he is proper coach. Happy to work with the players he is given with the aim of improving them and getting them playing to his system. A perfect coach for a club that has a structure like ours.

Indeed, and while there's obviously a few concerns with the 'probably' and how much he'd cost - we have, and look to imminently continue, addressing important issues - but with realistic, talented, young players. None of this forgetting what type of club we are and thinking we'd get the overpriced overrated Hulk for instance..

Basically the opposite of Redknapp!

The thought of finally having a solid defence with strength in depth makes me happy. This is great news.

Signings are fun, but Poch being happy with our squad is even better!

It suggests a team morale statement to me. To say he is happy means the players will function without fear of the chop, however if he was also asked could he 'be happier' with new signings? I think he would say a big YES.

Great info from JJ this morning. Mussachio sounds like he'll be the final piece of the puzzle with Poch being happy with the rest of the squad. If Poch can get the defence sorted and Ade and/or Soldado on top form we will be a real tasty proposition this season. Even more so if Lamela comes to the party!

Best part is that we are therefore not going to put ourselves at a disadvantage by leaving key positions weak (assuming MM comes in soon) at the start of the season while negotiating transfers that drag on to deadline day. Poch can just focus on the football and we can just sit back and wonder what magic (if any) Mr Levy can conjure up towards the end of August.

It's almost like we knew we had a good bunch of players but just a fucking clueless gilet in charge ...

GET YOUR POCH OUT FOR THE LADS.

The latest ITK is good in that it mirrors what Poch has been saying in public and seems to suggest there's actually some sort of plan with how we approach transfers this season.

It should also dampen expectations for a spending spree a little bit, which I think is something that all Spurs fans could do with even if it's just for one window.

I'm sure we'll keep an eye out for good deals, and I'd be surprised if we didn't bring in one or two more, but Poch being happy with the squad is good enough for me.

Like this latest from JJ a lot. It would be great to think we have a manager who sees the value of what we have instead of always wanting other players and maybe blaming that on lack of success. With the obvious holes that we have had being filled (or being sorted) we surely have a good enough squad to compete well

I see it as he'd ideally like his pair from soton. But if this cant be done now he's happy to go with the squad he's got and access the situation in January. His big issue....and mine.....was the defence. Hopefully this is looking good. Dare i say it really good! Not just the first 5 players but the fact we could have a strong second set. Thumbs up i say! ..........for now aha!

My only worry is by saying he's happy with the squad he has made a bit of a rod for his own back, 'cos the squad is virtually the same as what Sherwood worked with. Lets hope he gets more points on the board than Sherwood as I'm sure Levy and the cutting crew will just be behind his back.
