We're not privy to the behind scenes stuff regarding any potential attitude issues so little point worrying about it from that point of view. If he was potentially that bad I'm pretty certain we would of moved on by now given the lengths we went to, to remove other players with questionable attitudes.

We need another forward and I think Berahino offers us another alternative in terms of style as well. Could be great coming off the bench in some games.

I'll be pretty pleased if we end up with him as I do believe it will strengthen us for the second half of the season, and when you think of our Europa League commitment to manage as well it really does make sense.

Most importantly though he's proven in this League and we know he can do the business as opposed to bringing in someone else from another league who may take time to adapt - when we really need someone who can hit the ground running. Might take a few weeks to get up to speed but that's understandable given his limited minutes this season to date.

It's concievable that Pulis is making more of Berahino's indiscretions because he wants him sold so he can buy players he actually wants. He has a number of strikers and has openly stated he prefers to play with one up front. Berahino isn't suited to this role.

So where would he play with us?

Hmmmm, I'm a bit worried about Berahino.
Wasn't there a bit of a rumpus going on yesterday at Stoke? Something revolving around him?
He may just be lining up his toys, getting ready but our spirit is so good right now, I'd rather sign no-one than risk upsetting it.

Do you mean Stoke? WBA were playing Newcastle. Pulis said that " ha's lucky to be on the bench". He wants him out of the club.

It is very clear Pulis wants him out & spend the money on his targets.

All these attitude problems are getting blown out of proportions. Looking at the WBA squad, football wise, first name on team sheet has to be Berahino. So, am not surprised Berahino is angry & petulant when he is not sold or played.

From what I have seen from U21 games, Berhaino has great chemistry with Kane & they work together well.
If he is available, we should get him

Well, this isn't correct. This isn't correct at all.

A good negotiator knows when it's not a good deal. Getting a deal done regardless of cost is not a sign of good negotiating; the very opposite.

You would have seen my following post where I explained myself. I don't want to get in to a negotiation 101 but not being able to conclude a deal you want is not good negotiation. It just means you were unable to convince the other party to do what you wanted on terms you'd be comfortable with. Anyway let's move on, the transfer window is about to open :)

Fwiw unless things have changed in the last few days I'm very much in the same camp as Mystery, and not at all in the same camp as BEN.

Hmm.

Sounds like BEN has gone out on a limb with his information...
Considering that something obviously happened this past week and the fact that Berahino was looking like a miserable git on the bench during our game with them, i'd reckon that something very well could have changed since Trix last heard from his source. So no, maybe BEN hasnt gone out too far from his tree on this.

Berahino certainly seems out of sorts and Pulis is making it clear he wants rid. Couple that with the papers talking up a deal for Townsend going the other way and there seems to be the makings of a deal allowing both clubs to save face coming. Just hope both parties can agree quickly and not have this drag out for the whole of January.

Problem will come in difference in valuation of both players. I can see Levy submitting a lower bid than last bid he submitted in summer window.
20m for Berhino & 10m for Townsend would be my valuation.

Hertyid on COYS:

Ighalo is not a target as far as I'm aware. We are looking for someone as a Kane backup, not a first choice.

Yeah, wba.
Don't know where Stoke came from? Although I was watching Lord of the Rings at the time of posting...

I agree this nonsense with WBA makes Saido look like a bit of a troublemaker, but one would imagine Kane, Dier, etc know SB well from U21 England games. I'm sure they would tell MP if they think his attitude is not right for Spurs.

Everyone knows working for Poch is very tough physically. If he genuinely wants that then fair play to him.

Reports today that Berahino has constantly turned up late for training and that is why Pulis said what he did he other day. He's obviously angling for a move away in January and is trying his upmost to get out.

I don't really like "reports" of this kind. No announcement of a club fine as far as I know. My suspicion is that all the Pulis stuff is designed to give the Chairman cover when he sells Berahino. Not doing much for the price though.

Really can't see us buying a player with an attitiude like Saido's. We won't upset our apple cart like this.
