You realise the Goat is one of the admins right? Who then posts information gathered from multiple sources (that sometimes also post their info elsewhere?)
I realize who the Goat is and I’m not questioning his information or his sources just saying I feel that the way it was written displayed a bias against Levy which while understandable is still allowing his opinion to influence the facts. If the writer was a BSODL he could just as easily written that Daniel Levy saves us from wasting 50M on Traore while turning down an insulting bid for Berwijn. I don’t have the information the admin get but it doesn’t change the fact that you can spin any facts according to your preconceived opinions. That’s why all ITK is with a Pinch of salt. Not having a go at the Admin guys who do a great job but when I read that bleat this morning my first thought was “wow that’s a very inflammatory ITK, especially for deadline day”. Just my 5 cents.

I think a lot of you need a reality check and to be aware that this isn’t a game of football manager. We kept our main asset, upgraded a number of key positions and are top of the league. The team are playing with confidence, Dele looks up for it for the first time in a long while and our RB position has a solid upgrade. We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors, and can only hope Tanguy sorts himself out and tries harder. Could be depression not simply laziness. Be kind.

Be patient, let’s judge the business of the club at the business end of the season. #coys

The biggest worry for me and everyone I think today was that Levy was intervening on football issues, by refusing to sanction the departure of Berg. That is seriously concerning. Is Berg another one who Levy seems to rate for some unknown reasons? I think most football people are the club harbour concerns that he won't make it here.

The little bald clown, as we all knew, would never be able to relinquish control completely. It's only taken a matter of weeks, and the first sign of when push comes to shove, and he steps in and exercises his control. I suspect Paratici won't last long here, just like all the other DOFS.

How Paratici can be MD of Football but Levy overrules him on football matters is just so depressing.

Absolutely. Not allowing the purchase of Adama is irritating but we don’t know what the finances look like. It might have just been something we couldn’t do. However, Levy blocking the sale of a player to raise funds is very concerning.

The only possible attempt at an explanation I have - and I’m not even sure I’d have the conviction to say this out loud - is that we have: Kane, Son, Berg, Moura, Gil and Scarlett for 3 places.

I mean, it’s beyond a stretch. I was convinced he’d bring in Adama given the Mendes stuff.
You could even add Sess to that list as he has palyed half his senior career on the left wing. And between them not one single one that is a natural on the right.

They all prefer/are more effective either from the left or through the centre.

Same time last year we had Lamela and Bale that both preferred/were better on the right.

Sorry! Forogot the wonderkid Jack Clarke. No worries then! :banghead:

"Despite the Head Coach, Director of Football and Director of Technical Performance all deciding that Traore was the one they wanted and spending the last week of the window negotiating for him, thankfully Levy saw sense and told them at the last minute that in fact he wasn't going to sanction their crazy attempt to give us a new attacking option and we'd be sticking with our two non-scoring wingers and the youth team player."

There you go.

What I legit don’t understand is what was the deal with the Martinez and Vlahovic bids/interest? So the club knew they needed another attacker but decided it was either those two or no one else in world football?

Where did the money go that we were going to spend on either of them? Surely that could have been used for Traore.

I am sure that if we moved on Ndombele, Aurier/Doherty and several others, players would have been brought in. It is my understanding that Nuno does not like a large squad. We have a very large squad. We also want to be able to give serious minutes to players in the U-23's. So how can they play in conference league when we have players in the squad that also need to play? We all want to have it both ways.

Emerson is confirmed. Four senior bodies for one position. Across 4 competitions, unless there are injuries, are any more than 2 going to play? Tanganga has earned the position and will likely continue to get PL starts until someone displaces him. Emerson is not coming in to sit. He'll play too. So, how do Doherty and Aurier get playing time? They don't want to go because they are getting decent wages and are very comfortable. London, the Stadium, Training Facilities, wages, perks etc. Things would be tougher elsewhere.

Ndombele is taking up a place in the roster for someone who would want to be at Spurs, was willing to work and apply himself. Sadly, large wages for 4 more seasons. Nuno does not seem to me to be willing to play guys just because. So, Tanguy will either apply himself and work for the badge, or he'll take up a place and chunk of the salary that could be used for players who want to be at Spurs.

At Wolves last year, with lots of injuries, 9 players featured in more than 31 PL games (had Jiminez not been injured that would have been 10). The year prior it was 11 with one sub featuring in 29, so not a lot of rotation. 12 players got the lion's share of minutes. Spurs this year have basically had the same starters. 9 plus Harry who would have been there and then Moura who has 2 starts and one sub.

If there is someone we can get who will replace a starter, by all means, go for it. Can we get the person they replace, or the third in line at that position, out the door?

Reality is, window after window, it is the players who refuse to go out the doorway that stop those who would be beneficial if they came in. Rose sat all of last year. Not sure any in the current roster have been dissuaded by that. And yes, I am sure Levy's valuation complicates matters too. That said, if a player wants to go and we want to sell them, there is usually a way to make it happen. Not suggesting I have any answers. Nothing new in any of this.

my only hope is that Fab and Nuno are slowly getting Levy drunk and slowly placing pen in his hand

When Kane sprains one of his ankles and is out 6 to 8 weeks, what happens if Son gets injured as well? How can they go into rest of season with no backup striker?

People going on the 4 right backs need to realise that isn’t the problem! Doherty and aurier aren’t good enough and management don’t see them with a future, they will be moved on at some point. Big thing is the next few months both of them not getting game time will hopefully push them to move in jan! Tanganga very good defensively but we seen on Sunday he is very poor going forward ... why ? Because he isn’t actually a right back! The opportunity of Emerson arises a right back you see as your first choice for the next 5/8 years you take it! The problem is not signing attackers or a cam which is a whole different issue and one that should also have been addressed

What a way to show ambition and to try and break into the top 4. This will end up being a mediocre season yet again.
