Has there ever been an end to the transfer window that hasn't descended into argument? I feel a bit in the middle. Not going to go overboard with optimism over the window or the season ahead but don't see a reason to get upset either.

Don’t think it’s really an argument. Everyone shares the same frustration that we’ve had such a good start, bit of feel good coming back after Jose and everyone can see the squads a couple short for this season..Few injury’s coinciding with international break quarantine for Lo Celso Romero and Sanchez and we’ve unnecessarily shot ourself in the foot. We’ll end up seeing that Ferreira away side a lot more than we want/should. Frustrating but is what it is and hopefully Nuno can develop John, Scarlett and others and we can get lucky with minimal injury’s

The whole thing is s cheap piss-take. This is ALL on Daniel Levy!?

All summer our remit was priority defence and a striker! Midfielder if we moved one or two. Don’t blame Paratici. This is totally and utterly ALL on Daniel Levy. There is no disputing and arguments to defend him here. In total creatively (thanks to Para) we done good business. We fecked up over a forward, because he sees things differently. Pee off!
I wonder if Paratici is now thinking "what the fuck have i done" by joining this shit show

Rodon the jury's still out on. Sanchez and Dier we've had years of fuck-ups from them. They're not going to change my mind that they'd good defenders. If you need Toby next to you to not be shit, you're not good enough.

Ndombele, with where his head and fitness are both at, is no where near good enough to start.
We know what Rodon is - a good young international centre back who will run through brick walls and has loads of potential. Sanchez and Dier are playing in a properly organised team with a midfield shield working their arses off in front of them and they are now showing that they are decent international standard defenders. Ndombele can just piss off, the lazy self entitled waste of talent.

This is by no means an attempt to play down people's views or emotions, but do we think everyone would have a different outlook on this TW if we had signed Bryan Gill and Romero today, as opposed to quite early in the window?

Also if we had just switched the radio/TV/whatever on for only today and seen our business, would we have had less of the reaction that we're seeing?

I think 90% of the time its the fact that we feel so close to the transfer process, from the early ITK, the updates, plane tracker info, twitter rumours etc, that its always going to feel a bit anticlimactic come the close of play.

Disclaimer: this isn't a pro levy post. Just sometimes i feel we feel the situation is x times worse than the reality.

Just a thought.

Its always the same old story. Fed up of listening to it.

Let's just get on with the season and see if nuno can pull a miracle.

Not at all though, is it? People are basing the permanent ability of our squad based on a miserable season of Jose.

(aside from that being a really good example of a straw-man argument, of course!)
We’re still not comparable to City in the context of this argument, even if we’ve got a more competent manager. They have a wealth of attacking options, we really don’t

Everyone at the start of the window "our squad is a total fucking shitshow, no way we fix this in one window!"
Everyone at the end of the window "FFS Levy, why didn't you keep Kane, sort the Lloris situation and also fix CB, RB, creative MF and a backup striker? Oh and also get rid of everyone we don't like!?!??!?"

I exaggerate, but surely we all knew this was too big a job to sort in one window? Decent first steps I think so far - I'm more concerned about the lack of creativity at MF than I am about who plays CF but as I say, it was too big a job to sort everything in one window.

guys..we are not in champs league or europa...Kane is playing one game a week..and some cups...this is the most rest he has ever had in the offseason. we will be fine

We will battle it out with Leicester and Wham for a place in the EL, wich is a decent finish.

The problem is Levy wants us to beat one of City, Pool, ManU or Chelsea for a top 4 spot. He will point at our 3 wins as confirmation we don't need another attacker or midfielder. I really struggle to see us beat any of those for top 4.

You're right, we will be fine, but not good enough for that last push.

Dier & Sanchez under Jose were scared boys. I dont see the same players now under Nuno. Nuno made Ottamendi-Mustafi to look like world class when he took Valencia to their best points finish for 2 or 3 decades.

Sometimes, even if players are substandard, if you organise well, results can be achieved.

Everytime I have seen Sanchez play for Colombia, he looks incredibly good. May be what he needs is a good environment and a manager who believes in him. I have seen loads of evidence in first 3 games to suggest, Nuno is getting to them and they are looking comfortable. I am not saying they are world class or PL star CBs...but we need to give them the chance to grow under Nuno.

We heard the impending sale of Kane if the price was met, then we went on to hear rosy news and possibilities of players coming in. We then heard some news of naming rights which might give us extra kitty funds as boost, the we went on to hear rosy news and possibilities of players coming in.

Then Kane stays and there aren't much news about the naming rights either. Is almost like what Levy has planned and promised to Paratici/Nuno/us are all based on hypotheses which will never happen, but just taking everyone for a ride, which frankly has almost become sort of a habit/ritual he has to do for the sake of doing it in every window.

Carlos Vinicius has just signed for PSV Eindhoven, so that’s my bet for an 11th hour panic signing down the drain ffs

The idea that had we signed Traore we’d be challenging for top 4 is just deluded. Have people seen the City, United, Liverpool and Chelsea squads? They are ridiculous.

Top 4 can’t be an ambition for us this season. Top 5 or 6 maybe, but we are going to have 2 or 3 seasons of rebuilding and pushing for those top positions once again. We’re putting ourselves at the forefront of signing the best young talent again which is exciting as it’s one of our best chances of long term success.

It’s clear we don’t have the money to invest this summer and what we’ve managed to do is very clever. I would have loved to have seen another central midfielder join, but that hasn’t happened so Ndombele and Lo Celso must now step up. In truth there aren’t many better out there on the market currently, but they need to show more. A striker, wing/forward would have been ideal also, but there are so few good ones around. Luckily there are some excellent younger players in those positions coming through who I’m sure we are monitoring.

We need to forget where we were 2 or 3 seasons ago and look at where we could be in 2 or 3 seasons time.
By which point Kane will be gone. Son getting on. We will always be chasing and getting nowhere unless we step up our efforts or some of the big teams drop off as they did when we we’re finishing top 3 etc

Kane will most like get his standard 4-6 game injury. Sonny in every game. He burns out towards end of season. Repeat.

Levy never learns.
