Some Southampton bod posted this on their forum and quite frankly, me likey!

"Yes, it is my understanding that his 3 main targets are J Rod, Chambers and Lallana."
I'm not sure about J Rod, at least I would want to see that he is back to his best before we made a move and ultimately I would much prefer Morata. As for Lallana, yes he is a great player but I don't know if he is really worth the 25+ mil it would cost to sign him, there are plenty of fantastic left sided players around.

A right back and their versions of Lamela and Eriksen?

Surely we'll buy players for our priority positions instead.

I don't get the RB indeed, but Rodriguez is hardly comparable to either even if he does often play off the wing and Lallana would provide quite a bit of offensive impetus playing from the LW. I don't think we'd get him and I think there are more conducive options out there, but Lallana often plays in a position quite well that is very much a priority (LW).

I think I'd take Chambers as back up. Not sure as to J Rod and Lallana, think could do better but may be good to get J Rod for HG quota
Chambers would be a starter for us and it isn't particularly close imo. Massively impressive player. Think he should be in the WC squad personally.

No to Rodriguez from me unless we are selling one of our other Englishman. Otherwise he's not as good as some of the players we already have.

It's not, I have a sense of empathy. Once levy appointsa good mmanager they'll be gone as quick as modric and bale

It is total empathy. I know exactly how it feels so it is funny seeing other people going through what we did. They're not dead, it is not the end of the world. They lost a manager. It is the over reaction that we as fans have in these moments that is funny. I can see in them what we do and it is a chance to laugh, because we will probablyy go through it again (for one reason or another) very soon.

We lost Harry, King, Modders and VDV in a summer, after finishing 4th but still not qualifying for the cl due to lucky bastards who won the lottery. We know how it feels.

It's very similar indeed. Not quite as similar, as we have the resources and attractability to likely reach those heights again and soon, but it could be quite a bit of time before Saints fans see their club fare as well as they did this year with young talents, if ever.

Harsh. We were midtable nobodies for the majority of my teens/20's.
And for me also, and for longer.

But during the Redknapp years, we'd finally got beyond that. Whatever you might think of that man, we've nonetheless been going backward since.

In my opinion, Levy is not making appointments that mean business. He's making appointments that mean he's gullible for amanager of the moment and cheap gambles.

They will recoup massive amounts of money from the likes of Lellana and Shaw. They just have to do a good job of reinvesting.

Thing is we've never experienced it with a manager and many on here are setting themselves up for a fall with their beliefs in getting a wenger/ fergie type

I've just been speaking to a friend and I mentioned Poch going to Spurs most likely to happen etc etc...

My friend then just told me that Rodriguez dad's (his agent) best mate drinks down the boozer where my friend's friend works and he has been told that Rodriguez to Spurs is unofficially sorted....depending on who we appoint as our next manager as the Rodriguez party want to see which direction Spurs would be going in. i.e hiring hoddle, moyes or sherwood keeping his job would have meant Rodriguez wouldn't want to move. However if Poch comes, Rodriguez moving to Spurs would be a go.

Credentials of that punter? I don't know. However I know my friend's mate and he's a Spurs fan as well.

That'd be sympathy, as if it were empathy you certainly wouldn't find it funny. ;)

It's very true, but we should also sympathize with the fact that all that money for new players does not necessarily guarantee they'll even move forward.

The majority of what I found funny was how they were slagging us off and calling us all the names under the sun. Not the fans that were just disappointed that he was leaving. That is totally understandable. It's the over reaction and anger that is hilarious.

I'm not convinced by Rodriguez, what we see before the injury could well be his peak with no guarantee of him reaching that again especially with such a big injury

I'm starting to get excited about Doctor Poch, he's not my first choice and I have reservations like anyone would, but I feel he might just be that diamond in the rough we all crave. He gets on well with his players, plays an attacking game and will be supplied with far more talent than he would at Soton.

Fuckin hell I hope not. If we bring in a recently injured Rodriguez, and then forego a better option at LW or striker then that's a massive first strike for Poch.

If you can't occasionally get excited about the prospect of something good happening, then really, what is the point?

.

Wasn't good at English in school (way too many magic mushrooms) but I can understand and have had those feelings (in the past)and realise that they have them, but find it funny as it reminds me of me and spurs fans.

That isn't sympathy.

Levy would never sanction the buy, he's not mad enough to go balls deep on an injured player. He might tell Doctor Poch, to revisit that option in January instead.
