Ok, my observations on Villa and his comments.

The fee we agreed with Barca has NOTHING to do with Villa. His comments are about his personal terms and the like.

He is allowed to make any decision he wants, for any reason he cares to give (or not give).

Athletico could offer him stuff we couldn't (stay in Spain, CL footy), just like we could offer him stuff they couldn't(new challenge, team on the up, best fans).

He chose them. I've moved on.

Anyway, I have changed direction and realised that Benteke is going to come to us and be our Drogba and instantly make us title challengers. This almost certainly means that Levy will fuck it up by playing games over the money and another club will just make it as simple as it needs to be and sign him.

I don't think we quite agree because I don't think AM moved quicker (or showed more interest). He isn't saying they were the fastest club to put an acceptable offer together, he is saying a prem club (presumably us) had an acceptable offer on the table but a preferable one came in from AM. He says the preference came from footballing reasons, but he would say that so we'll probably never know on that score. I believe him though - AM are a decent team with CL football.

im sorry - i just dont understand this logic. Villa are selling a player for an inflated price - if we aren't getting good value for our money i.e. VILLA are asking for more than what the players VALUE to us is then it is a sensible decision to not purchase him. Levy is not the only person to play games with money and the insinuation everything will be his fault is inaccurate.

If Villa wont accept a bid from us that is reasonable and represents good value for our club then i dont want to buy him and i will not be blaming Levy for making a sensible, well thought out, calculated decision.
