Modders is going, I'm sure of it.

But if we get Moutinho, and keep Modders, there is only one winner, which is Spurs. Would give us some serious strength and also allow Moutinho to settle in the UK and team without pressure.

If Modric does stay (and I don't think he will), his heart will be in it once we start putting points on a nice high position up the table.

Interesting, given the ITK before it. I guess we are not adverse to losing him, but he probably wants to feature this season as it will probably be his last in terms of regular game time.

If Moutinho is over here talking to us, shouldnt that mean a fee with Porto has been agreed and we've been given permission to speak to him?

Not necessarily agreed a fee but we should have made contact and been given permission to start negotiations with him

With Siggy and Jan already in the back signing Moutinho, Ade and Sturridge with perhaps a keeper would be an unreal summer of business, with the only likely negative being either/or Modders/VDV leaving. Add to that Caulker in the squad and we really will be in great shape. Hoping the Goat's news comes off.

Dunno mate. I was not belittling you, more playing devil's advocate. I hope she realises that she will get dogs abuse if VDV goes now. Surprised she bothered to reply though, so hopefully it is with good intentions.

Starting to get a little worried about the striker situation, and yes, I know there is a lot of time yet.

Remy rumours have basically disappeared since Harry went.
Lewandowski (sic) has just been mooted.
Sturridge is unlikely as its the Chavs.
Leandro saga has been running longer than agent_ITK's mouth and I don't think we'll ever get him.

I can see Ade being done but do we have any other targets?

I think I would prefer a keen Moutinho to a Modric whose heart isn't in it anymore tbh.

If Shanks source is correct about Oscar then I can only hope we get the more experienced and developed Moutinho instead. Albeit a lot more expensive i'm sure.

Comes from a relative who is very close to his agent. Main connections are a Stoke but she always keeps me updated with spurs stuff when she hears. Was first to me on Crouch.

Remy will be announced by the 12th of july according to last weeks ITK...

In the Moutinho vs Modric debate. Where I have always thought highly of Moutinho, the thing here is that we know Modric can do it week in week out in the Prem...we don't know yet it Moutinho would be a bit of a Deco - on his day incredible...but mostly unfit and anonymous.

And I think all this talk of "uninterested" or "heart not in it Modric" is irrelevant - last season he gave everything despite what happened in the summer and I am sure he would do the same again.

Yeah and Porto are notorious for being hard ball players....I can't see brinkmanship and strategy weakening their resolve, much like us with Modric.

What we need to do is get a ridiculously good price for Modric to offset the high price of Moutinho. 40 million for Modric, 25 for Moutinho and we are doing pretty well IMO

I appreciate its not that simple obviously!
