I'm looking forward to another 500 posts on Bale today....

Anyway, hoping Soldado isn't this years Damiao, longer it goes on, the more worried I get.

With respect to the whole modric saga modric was for lack of a better term thick. I am talking a towie girl thick, if you told him to go into church for no reason and shout c*** he would do it. It was easy to manipulate. Bale is not so easy to . manipulate.

What I do not understand is how this story with no evidence so far has garnered so much belief.

Nothing can ever surprise me in football but if we wanted to sell bale we would invite psg, chelsea, city the teams that could actuallu afford the fee..

Would love that and then RM would have to do a Man U and match the fee or lose so much face.

do the club have any plans to address what is becoming a media campaign? i see the tide has turned a bit in some UK papers today but the longer this goes on, the shakier everyone is going to get. Every word is analysed, only one side of press conferences are reported (the answers/lack of answers, rather than repetitive and irritating questioning) and shaped in a way that makes it seem inevitable. Even the most level headed of commentators are being taken in...

Is there any truth in the figures being mentioned? I have to say, as great as he is, £86m is a hell of a lot of money...although for everyone involved a sale would be a hell of a gamble. At 23, he should have the best years of his career ahead of him, but he's a pace player who's had a somewhat chequered injury record. There's always the chance he could fail to meet the dazzling heights of last season again and with a year less on a deal he would lose a degree of value.

The flipside is his rapidly growing star and the optimistic view that next year he could better last seasons epic performances. I hope he shows a bit of faith in the club where he's emerged to become a global figure in the game and at least helps us back into the CL before going for an absolute fuckload of money.

I'd be less against a sale if I had any faith that we'd actually be able to reinvest it and get the right players in quickly...I really just don't like the way this is rumbling along in the background, too deja-vu-ey with Berbatov and Modric.

Whatever happened to agrdavidsfan? He seemed to hear Welsh whispers IIRC.

With Soldado still not announced and this Bale business I'm still a bit -

One of the papers saying that Bale's body language means he wants to go.

So suarez body language against australia all stars was glossed over by the media yet bales supposed body language which if he has a buttock strain would make him walk slightly different (no intended joke there!) His body language is bad?

Clutching at straws springs to mind.

At this point i'd rather sell him to PSG or Monaco for a pound than sell him to bloody Real!

Thank you for the confirmation about Modders - have always suspected the little chap wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer!

Llm you are single handedly giving me belief everything will be alright. Keep it coming!

Of course the only way this goes really goes away is he signs a new deal.

I'm still laughing at the thought of a bewildered Modric running into a church and shouting ****.

It made me spit coffee everywhere. :ROFLMAO:

I worry as a Bale fan that he may not get his salary if he signs for these crooks... :grumpy:

Genuinely....

I bet you hope he stays as the other day you said you would eat your own turd if he did not. For all our sakes, and especially yours, I hope he stays!!

"His people are driving this"

So much for Stretford being Levy's mate and them having a good relationship

Marca should be sued for the lies and stupid hysteria they cause and create, also Real should be reprimanded as they are driving this aswell and probably feeding lies to be reported!

If he goes I believe that one way or another Levy will ensure he is the key factor in the first £100m player

OK, de-lurking for a first post. I go away for the weekend and come back and there's still no Soldado signing!

Where's my Shiny New Soldado?!

Just noticed that the OS feed on the site that can't be mentioned here stated that Klinsmann was signed on this day 19 years ago... Is this the omen we've been waiting for???

Hmm, you'd imagine the first thing we'd do if we were truly angry at Madrid's conduct would be to terminate the 'strategic partnership' agreement we have with Madrid. Bit difficult to see us making a successful complaint to UEFA that Madrid's attention to Bale is entirely unwelcome when Madrid remain in a 'special relationship' with us.
