I get why quite a few are disappointed. FdB seems a much better choice than Tino. I must admit I am feeling rather devoid of hope. We should, however, try to recognize the good sides of our new man, and put the Levy-bashing on hold for now. I think we all have fallen into the premature judgement pit more than once. I certainly have.

It might be difficult, but come on, get behind our man - Levy and the lads might see something we do not.

Who is appointed between Poch and FDB has kind of been irrelevant. We have an ok squad but need some obvious changes.

But regardless of that there are 5 teams better than us before the season starts. 6th spot is our benchmark. Us and Everton battling for 6th.

So this appointment is more about Levy than the manager. He HAS to give the person 3 seasons to see what progress cab be made. A knee jerk reaction if we finished 7th next season can't happen. Will he do it? Only time will tell.

99% hated Timmy for various reason but now same people welcome a man whose previous win rate is 38%

With any team of limited finance, the squad is thin. I would bet all sex I would have for the rest of my life that pochy would have a higher % with us next season should he run with us or us him.

Timmy has the highest win % all time in the EPL, would you rather him?

The reality is that our new coach will have to ride the coat-tails of fifth, assuming that van Gaal galvanises United as expected and Liverpool hang on to Suarez. Par is finishing sixth, ahead of Everton.

It needs repeating that Sherwood averaged 1.91 PPG, which pans out to 73 points a season—a total we've exceeded only twice in our entire history. Does that make him more competent than AVB?

If fourth is the expectation, we'll be looking for a new manager this time next year.

Based on 2 points per win.

well he hasn't been bought in a slave market & put to work. It's a bit his fault if he gets the job!

& I'm not sure anyone should be told to ' lower their expectations' either.

Rather poor post there fella

As poor as calling for someone's head before he's had a chance?

If you think we should expect top 4 as a minimum then yes you should lower your expectations. We've achieved it twice doesn't give us a divine right. Top 6 minimum yes

I'm sure I've been a fan a lot longer than you so I'll ignore your negativity

Dear Mr Levy,

Nine times previous you have been faced with the dilemma of installing a new shiny manager of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. And arguably each and every time you have managed to get things wrong. Now having employed nine different people into the role and ultimately having to then sack these nine people raises many questions.
Just by law of averages for instance it seems very unlikely that all nine could be the wrong man for the job every time. You have attempted to bring in every kind of coach there is on the planet for gods sake.

So why are we constantly on the look out for a new manager?

I think its relatively simply. If you start acting like a man who trusts his judgement and actually back the man in charge to actually buy his players and mold his team, we may find ourselves onto something.

Lets stop pretending we're Mr kim Jun Levy and let the next manager of our great club live and then ultimately die by the sword of his own doing.

Who knows, even number 10, Mr Pochettino may be a success.

Optimistically yours

Ryan + Tegan

Why?

Fans if this one goes balls up there will be booing every home game.
I'm sorry, you appear to be under the impression that fans matter in modern football.

Maybe you're older than me & therefore correct, which I can't help, maybe not. I don't know, but as a percentage of our lives I assure you you haven't been.

You're the one saying people must lower their expectations ... & in the same breath calling me out as negative? I've not called for any managers head, let alone one who hadn't been appointed yet!

Find me a negative post I've made. (I'll own up to negative Danny Rose posts, & stand by them.) Seriously. Find me a post I've ever made which is more negative than your "lower your expectations & get behind an as yet un appointed manager" post

Spurs fans get screwed over every season it's just dam right depressing.
I don't presume to speak for the majority, but I in no way resent the £860 I've shelled out for my season ticket renewal.

Being able to watch one of the top sides (i.e. top 30 or so) in Europe first hand every other week is rather good. Perspective.

Because at a certain level in football it actually matters who you are and what you have done when you are dealing with big stars with even bigger egos they often are like children spoilt rich ones. That is why fdb is a better choice.

You don't think it would be a major cause of concern for Levy and Lewis if attendance figures dropped significantly, and many of those that did attend spent their time booing the team?

Just out of pure interest...

Say the shoe was on the other foot, and it was Martinez who guided Southampton to 8th, and Poch who guided Everton to 5th, would it still be a unanimous YES for Martinez and a split decision on Poch?

I just wonder if people have a problem with the club his at, rather than the man himself.
