Has anyone kept any kind of record of how accurate the ITK was this summer.

Seems like we signed quite a few who were on no-one's radar at all ?
In all honesty I was thinking the same thing too. For those coming in, only Davies and Vorm seemed to be ITKs, the others were more or less "known" only when pen was about to be put to paper. Saying that the ITKs could have been right but they were vague most of the time when they said for example "expect a CB or DMF" which was very vague where any subsequent CB or DMF purchased could be seen as the ITK being correct.

I am not bashing ITKs honestly as I really enjoyed the ride as it kept me going the past few weeks now I have to find other interests :(

Yeah, most of the best stuff came from from the selling clubs or media announcements.

Yedlin came from Taylor Twellman IIRC
Davies / Vorm came from the guy who's related to Swansea's chairman I think?
Fazio landed in the media via Sevilla people
Dier: maybe the Goat July 14th?
Stambouli: media.

ITK's can't even claim a lot of credit for outs when you consider how many of our players were linked with departures compared to how many went.

Really, really lean pickings this year. The ITKs have been off the mark by and large.

Thems the breaks.

You only need one good one and we're flying again but I think there's nobody very close at the moment.

My understanding is that we met the asking price, but the seller then decided that they wanted more of the pie so wanted tod negage on the agreement that they had with the Third Party owner i.e give them a smaller slice of the agreed percentage. The deal would have gone through only if the seller had a) gone by what was originally agreed with the third party owner, or b) we paying substanially more than the agreed cost. We did not get MM because the seller was both greedy and dishonourable. Neither were we culpable in the collapse as we did everything correctly and timely.

This is what I would like to know if possible. There's lots of theories, from SB's "we didn't have the money" to the more complex issues of third party negotiations and pie slices.

Just wondered if anyone could shed some informed light on it.

I was actually listening to a discussion on the Times podcast this week about this and it just got me thinking about our scenario with Musacchio, who I'm pretty sure would have loved to move.

There is a real conflict it seems to me when part/whole ownership is held by an agent who is also representing the player. Clear conflict if interest with his client surely ?

The whole 3rd party ownership thing should be banned worldwide by FIFA.

Unfortunately, they're too busy whoring themselves out to racist, homophobic nations in exchange for vast sums of money.

Doesn't shock me though, considering some of ITK's have been here since the Ramos/Jol days, be astounded if some still had the same level of contact as they once did. It might be a case of some of the info is now 3rd hand rather than 2nd.

I'm pretty sure all the players that we signed our interest was first announced by the press.

Yedlin - America
Davies / Vorm - Alan Nixon, The Mirror
Fazio - Spain
Dier - Thanet Gazette (seriously, 24 June - http://www.thanetgazette.co.uk/Tott...t-impressing/story-21282488-detail/story.html)
Stambouli - France
Lloris contract - Alan Nixon

The ITK was very wide of the mark this window. But that makes sense with a whole new (largely foreign) transfer committee.

Nice work mate.

I was plucking it mainly from memory, Dier apart, but yeah: stark reading isn't it!

Hi, Bridesmaid, like the beard!

I'm wondering if some kind of cunning plan is needed for the next transfer window...No doubt the Hawk that is A&C has a Codling grinder stashed away somewhere just in case of a meltdown.

As long as we don't sign someone who's 7 feet tall with an adams apple that constantly makes him look like he's trying to swallow a ball cock. Someone from mumbo jumbo land with a false beard and a pair of udders. A rum cove.

Hmmm...Maybe we'll end up with someone we can't pronounce the name of like, Antidistinctlymintymunty. We'll be unable to say his name correctly, so we'll just end up calling him 'Bob'. Perhaps Antidistinctlymintymunty will be 7 feet tall and will create such a meltdown that A&C will have to Codling grinder the lot of us into purest green.

Cunning.

Oh, but we've forgotten the Sausage. And the Aardvark.

That's enough words to fill a Fringe festival rendition of the Scottish play.

And four series of Blackadder references.

Wibble.

Yours,

The Bishop of Bath & Wells.

P.S. Let's doooo-oooo it!

@JJetset or @TrickyVilla or any others, would still love to hear anything you can share re the complexity and machinations of the Musaccio deal and why it broke down.

Now it's well and truly off the agenda.

All I know is that VR were happy with the fee itself, but believed they deserved a bigger share of it. The other parties were not prepared to change their position and that was that. His agent felt that with one more season like the last one and his value may well have doubled by next Summer. I doubt very much this one will be looked at in January, especially if Moreno is back playing. That is of course is if we are even still looking for a CB by then.

Well dunno 'bout you guys but im actually upbeat about the TW and the business done..... have waited for 2 days to post cos I really really couldn't be arsed reading the pages of repeated shitspreading.... just seen the squad list and am delighted to see ceballos and mason in there, they would be 2 more heading for the dustbin if we had got 2 more players in so nice one. I mean what is the point of getting some sprogs in if you are never gonna give em a go? Now they have a chance of getting some game time.

on some of the business..

Dawson ... sad that he went, I like the guy and his attitude but time was right..
Sandro ..... same as above, in his time he was THE DESTROYER, but much like king in some games in his final year, he seems a slightly subdued force....
Fazio ....... Looks pretty good to me, and he looks like he can be a proper hard fucker as well when he wants to be, about time we had some nasty roaming around the place..
Strombouli ........ My pops lives in france and is raving about this guy being who Man Utd (his team) should be buying...
Dier ......... Forget the Liverpool game - big learning curve, he is gonna be something special
Holtby ....... Didn't seem to be a good fit in any position - was only gonna stifle bentaleb and masons progress
Fryers ....... a shame really cos I was quite impressed with the guy when he played, but he needs regular games

on Liverpool ...... they are a good side and will be up in there around it again this year....we missed 2 sitters ade and chadli.... but then so did they .....a better team beat us move on!
on Man Utd ....... hahahahahahaha they need falcao cos they are gonna concede a whole shit load of goals

As I said im upbeat.... And Lamela is gonna be huge for us this year - he is trying way to hard to dispel last year at the moment but will calm down.....

I could give your player reps a whole lot of (y) or (n) 's, but hey ho, it's a game of opinions after all. We all see things differently and it's never worth getting het up over such things.

The one thing I do agree with whole heartedly is the couple of youngsters in our league squad and the fact that I, like you, am generally really upbeat, and even optimistic. As I eluded to earlier, these International fixture(s) though are getting in the way imo. Shame.

I think its all down Willian. ITK comes from a variety of sources, but after that fiasco, it seems like Levy ended any that came from the club. This is why the amount of ITK has slowed down.

I imagine that if LennonsJetBoots ran into Comolli in a lounge in Germany, today, he wouldn't have had a fun convo/picture moment with somebody that high in our organization.

I think we have to accept that the financial realities of 3rd party ownership are not going to go away, for some players and clubs they are the only way out of the footballing 3rd world.

But they need cleaning up and simplifying and they need to be globally uniformed.

Is that the factual reason ? That his team basically decided they weren't going to agree to the sale because the other ownership party (agent) wouldn't relinquish any of his cut and convinced them that he would be worth more next summer anyway ? Or is that best guesswork ?

Can anyone remind me who the third party(s) were (re Musacchio), I'm sure it was posted on here by someone.
