As an English premier league club it would also help us maintain a core of British players with the probable impending sales of Livermore, hudd, Parker and naughton

This is actually a good point. On the basis we would ideally want to have 8 home grown players in the squad, we're currently down to:

Bale, Dawson, Walker, Lennon and Caulker as definite players. Then we'd need 3 from the following to stay or bring in new home grown player(s): Huddlestone, Defoe, Naughton, Rose, Livermore and Parker.

Sigy is home grown.

Only if you need a 25 man squad. Any of the u21 can play.

Just a quick reminder, Klinsmann was 29 when he signed for us.
On the latest ITK how do we read that? We have done all that we can now it's up to the player! Does that mean all agreed he just needs to put his monica on the contract or does it mean after everything we've put into this we still haven't got him?

Cool, I didn't realise that.

True but you would imagine that we do want a 25 man squad as there's only 3 or 4 U21s that would get near the first team IMO.

But actually with Sigy in the home grown camp then we only need to retain two of: Huddlestone, Defoe, Naughton, Rose, Livermore and Parker which I guess will probably be Defoe and Rose/Naughton

I have no reason to doubt the ITK on HP. Although does anybody use the full name any more? Perhaps in Britain, it's more commonplace to use that. They are just HP here.

But this is a company that is suffering due to smartphones and some bad investments. They laid off 30K people at the start of the season.

Seems odd that they would want to get involved in shirt sponsorship at the moment.

We have to, otherwise we will all think were being sponsored by HP sauce. :)

I'd say the opposite - the point of sponsorship is nothing but advertising - Spurs are an "on the up" team getting more and more global exposure.
They probably couldnt afford to sponsor (advertise on) any one elses shirts that are bigger than us.

I'd still rather have Holsten back though!

Going back to the homegrown debate. It wasnt too long ago that people were laughing/pointing fingers at Arsenal for their foreighners.

Now people on here keep naming this potential starting 11

Loris
Walker Kaboul Vert BAE
Dembele Sandro Paulinho
Bale Villa Adebeyor(Leandro)

1 Englishman and 1 Welshman.
I'm not against foreign policy and actually used to defend Arse as they actually won a lot in those days. We also know England are shit so it stands to reason English players are generally shit too.

Still have that nagging thing in the back of my mind though that so many foreign players cant be good?

How many times this season will we manage to put out our first 11? Doubt it will be more than 10-15 games.
is bad though, think we'd sometimes be better loaning our promissing youth players to belgium or holland than the championship.

You're talking about a company that is worth about $27bn. What's with all the HP hate everyone? You weirdos.

Hewlett-Packard, a Silicon Valley pioneer founded in 1939 and now run by Chief Executive Officer Meg Whitman, remains one of the U.S. technology industry’s largest companies, producing US$120.4 billion in revenue during the past four quarters. Only Apple Inc., at US$156.5 billion, generated more, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

I genuinely couldnt give a toss if we start this season with no english first teamers.

All our(english) players are technically inferior cloggers. Cant be arsed with any of them.

EDIT: i was referring to english players in general. not that 'ours'/spurs are especially inferior. Dont get your knickers in a twist.
