As I said yesterday, wouldn't surprise me if de Boer was using van Gaal's tactics, make our interest known and drop the hint that he is contemplating leaving Ajax in order to smoke out all interested clubs. I can see why that wouldn't have gone down well at Spurs. I'd hazard a guess that if we have cooled interest then they have heard back that he is talking to other clubs as well, and we don't want to get stitched up.

Benitez is amoung the top 10 paid managers in the world. That's a lot of compo if he does badly.

The manager should be the most important person at the club. However much they earn (within reason) shouldn't even come into it seeing as we'll have players earning just as much.

As for AtlantaYid's info : It's just bloody typical. The one time I agree with Levy and Uncle Joe is putting the kibosh on it. Can't someone just slip some downers in his cocktail so he stays in his hammock on the beach for two weeks?

When Poch Met Danny?

DL: "Well Mr Pochettino, tell me what you think of Tottenham Hotspur?"

MP (In Spanish): "Totteringham Hootspur? Ha! I have barely heard of them. They are shit, the baldy little chairman is shit, their fans are shit. It is a shithole of a club and a joke to all in football".

Translator: "Spurs? What an amazing club with such fantastic and historic traditions. It would be a huge honour to manage such a beautiful team".

DL: "How do you think we could take the team forward?"

MP (In Spanish): "Take it forward? Ha, don't make me laugh - have you seen my actual record you poison dwarf? We would be f*cking lucky to stay in the PL, let alone take it forward - you ****. No way Jose!"

Translator: "Through hard work, dedication, the purchase of some excellent players - some of which we may be able to bring with us, coupled with the integration of youth. A guarantee for success. And a challenge I would love".

DL: "All sounds well Mr Pochettino, how much can we pay you?"

MP (In Spanish): "You cannot f*cking afford me you gigantic turd. I would want the equivalent of 10,000 Euros per year! Stick that in your pipe you arsehole!"

Translator: "My client would ask for a very reasonable £4.5m a year plus of course £2.5m for myself All very cheap for a manager of his outstanding ability".

DL: "Well Mr Pochettino, this all sounds very good to me. May I welcome you to Tottenham Hotspur".

MP: "****!"

Translator: "Fantastic news and truly a great honour".

At this stage - i'm happy with any of Poch, FdB or Benitez. FdB and Benitez both bring success and Poch has done impressive jobs at Espanyol (before all his best players were sold) and Southampton.

Disappoints me when people say he has only got Southampton where they should be with their squad. Correct me if i'm wrong but before he joined Adkins wasn't exactly pulling up trees as they were in the relegation fight. People also criticise him for benefiting off Southampton's youth academy - well that's hardly his fault is it. Plus, he is the one who is then selecting them for the first team - he's not ignoring them, so in effect he has brought them through (despite not 'developing them')

If serial championships with far and away the wealthiest club in a crap league where there's no serious competition are the criterion, Neil Lennon should also be in the running.
Pretty sure Erisken and Vert have both said FDB is the best coach they've worked under. I agree the comp in Holland is not great but to completely discredit his achievements is wrong! AVB is/was meant to be a super coach. Yet Eriksen and Vert still rate FDB as the best.

That's highly unlikely

"I have never talked with Inter Milan, but I prefer the Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga," de Boer said. "Italian football is very much in decline.

''Juventus did not play badly but they often expect that the two forwards need to create something. It's not my football.

"I would not go to Barcelona. It is very difficult to be a coach there. What can you teach players like Messi and Iniesta?

"Probably they need a manager rather than a coach, but I'm a coach rather than a manager.''

"I want to understand what contribution I can give."

Not sure if links are allowed to be posted here or else I would.

He's already said no to the Seria a and Barca. He doesn't want to go to a club that's won it all but a club where he can stamp his authority and improve the current players like Rodgers has done at Pool.

"I would like to add something to a club, that people can say they see the hand of Frank de Boer.

"There is a beautiful example at Liverpool. That is what Brendan Rodgers is doing now [making his mark]."

He's clearly said no to Barca and the other big clubs along with seria a but has spoken highly about us along with his bro. The way I look at it, he wants the job and I hope we give him.

What's the worry about Poch having the same agent as Bale? Surely this means Gareth is coming home. Poch in!

Sam Allardyce: £2.95m? That beggars belief!
I was still hanging on to the 'total football' tweet that someone cited jj as saying:(

Or Poch ends up at Madid as soon as he has a good season with us.

Seriously though, Barnett's actions stank of someone desperate for one last payday before his contract with Gareth finished. Totally selfish & not someone I would like close to the club.

But presumably Gareth didn't Bale on him and he is still his agent after having engineered that move for him? One of the only bits of ITK i ever got was during the friendly in Hong Kong last summer which was that Gareth was gone because Gareth don't shit unless Barnett tells him to.
