I didnt say anything about signing Remy/Adrian!

Buy: Moutinho £25m, Leandro £22m, Verts £10m, Ade £6m, Lloris £15m, Sig £8m. Total:£86M

Sell/Sold: Mods £35-40m, Krancjar £5m, Corluka £5m, Gomes £3-5m, GDS £5m, Pienaar £5m. Total:£65m

Obviously all estimates....

So we're talking about takeovers at the club, cash injections etc etc... You don't think we have £20m of our own money to spend on transfers?
I didn't say that. I mean I doubt we'll spend that much money on two individuals unproven in England

I don't like when ITK use the term 'world class'. A lot of people have different views on what is considered world class. The only striker who is world class imo that we have been linked with is Falcao, but he's 26. That doesn't mean to say that this certain ITK doesn't consider someone else world class though.

I'm struggling to think of someone who is both young and world class, it's a rare combination. Only a select few are world class at a young age, like Messi for example. I wouldn't even consider Neymar world class yet until he proves himself at the highest level. I expect he will prove to be though.

Ignoring wages of course....

I can't but help think there will be player or two being involved which will bring the actual cash price down.

Sid Lowe has said that Real Madrid are desperate to offset cost with a player for Modric and that there is truth in both Sahin being offered and him not liking it.

So I bet the cash+player will be a constant link through the Modric transfer.

El Mundo is also saying Diarra or Sahin could be part of the deal still.

Player exchanges almost never happen, I don't know why they always speculate it.

Got to say i'm still hoping that Gio is sold on if his stock is still high in Spain and elsewhere, yes he may get a new chance with AVB but i don't think four years of disappointment at Spurs is gonna fill him up with confidence or desire to suddenly want to knuckle down and establish himself. And if he fails yet again, he'll walk on a free and this summer if we get rid at least we'll get a fee for him. I think he's damaged goods tbh and not someone who should be part of our brave new world. Remember that two years ago Harry spoke positively about him in pre season and he suddenly found himself in and around the first team squad but was predictably ineffectual and disappeared yet again. Yes Harry might not have used his squad well but he talked Gio up and clearly felt he had a chance to make the grade at Spurs - he didn't, he hasn't and IMO he won't. I honestly don't understand the love in for him on this forum, really i don't. Agree with an earlier poster, i'd give Bentley another shot before Gio and that ship needs to sail as well

We don't need Diara anymore. I know nothing about Sahin, but I agree - player swaps are very unlikely and I'm sure we'd just prefer the cash.

If Madrid are ready to part with Sahin as a part of the Modric deal its such a shame he wanna stay at Madrid.
He should figure out he is not in their future plans if they are ready to give him away to make such a deal happen, and them signing Modric aint gonna increase his chances of playing.

What i always hoped is Madrid would just tell him if he stay he aint gonna play, sort of squeeze him out and buy him tickets to London.

Out of the 3 of Gio, Bentley and Jenas, I can see Jenas having something of an Indian summer. If the other 2 are kept on, I hope they tak their chance and contribute to the club's success but if I had to put money on one of the forgotten men getting his foot back in the door, it would be JJ.

I wouldn't really trouble yourself too much with the term 'world class'. It's just one of those terms that get thrown about meaninglessly to vaguely suggest any footballer that good clubs would want, or who has been fairly decent at international level. There were probably people out there who described Pav as world class.

And Lowe even talked about the complexities of it, since it includes 4 parties. But 3 parties are for Sahin. So if we can make him feel wanted rather than as a Madrid castoff maybe we could get over that last hurdle. Still seems improbable to me.

Of those three, JJ is probably a model pro and good guy to have in training working with the other players and kids. He's a perfectly fine squad player for me, leadership in those Europa matches where we have all youngsters. But he's probably on decent wages, and we'd have balance the books.

I am sure that we are trying our best to sell all three but the problem is the other clubs also know how good (bad) they are.

Aye, he's on a long and, one would think, pretty substantial contract (by Spurs standards anyway). Might not want to give that up and if he really isn't keen on coming here, it increases the chances of him not living up to his end of the bargain. A motivated Sahin would be epic. Truly epic. A player shunted here and already eyeing up the emergency exit would be shit.

Yea I don't get why Sahin wanting to stay would be a deal-breaker at this point, he might feel that way now, but might not as the summer goes on and Real Madrid makes it clear they don't value him. For instance, I'm sure all of the Dutch players, VDV and the rest would have stayed if it were up to them, but each have went on to situations where they've thrived and embedded at those clubs.

Milan want Damaio to replace Ibra, and from what I've heard in the past, he was holding out for a move to Italy.

If AVB seriously rates GDS then my already fairly pronounced scepticism about AVB has just increased somewhat.
