I’ve seen a few messages like this recently. Is there really any need? Sure, you can say that you’re joking, but, just as you are perfectly entitled to make your views known on anything to do with Spurs without the need to justify yourself, John, or anyone else, is similarly entitled to disagree.
The world is a pretty unpleasant place at times, and this place can often feel like a microcosm of that. And that unpleasantness can affect people in wholly different ways.
Surely the one thing we can all agree on, though, is that we all want the best for this football club.
Now, you and John may fundamentally disagree on how this to be achieved, but none of us is viewing this from exactly the same position. Nor are we privy to the way we all feel, and the way that words, however, humourlessly meant, can impact on someone.
I despair at the fact that, try as we might, rational debate on this forum can often feel impossible. In essence, we want the same thing; a team to be proud of, and football that makes us forget about the travails of life. How much responsibility we put on Tottenham Hotspur or Daniel Levy for that to happen is up to us as individuals.
Just as with the Brexit debate (Brexiteers and Remoaners) the terms ‘bedwetters’ and ‘BSoDL’ are hugely reductive, and stifle open, honest, and considered debate.
As a moderator of this forum, I really don’t see that you should be ‘sticking it’ to a member who just happens to disagree with you. How about we all treat each other with respect and just see how we roll from there?
Fucking hell just let people have fun. If email man is going to go around spamming people with disagrees it's only right that we can have a bit of a laugh and joke about it.

Are you not now calling someone else out though but asking all to get along. Also mods/owners should be allowed to post the same as anyone else here if they need too (and banned if it's inappropriate) so to say they should do x or y as a mod is just saying they have restrictions on how to post here.

Someone else said something about BSoDL killing debate a few days ago. The term BSoDL was born donkey's years ago. And it is a work of genius, even if I say so myself

;)

Yet the debate still rages so i'm pretty sure there's not much stifling or killing of debate going on :D

Of course, I’m not calling him out. I already said in my initial message that nicdic was perfectly entitled to his own views. I’m just suggesting that this ‘naming and shaming’ of people, who seem to disagree with the point you might be making isn’t helpful.
Sure, I totally get the point where it’s just a humorous comment. But, equally, we’ve seen it taken to mean excess with the likes of Spursking and Yankspurs back in the day.

I didn’t say it was stifling debate, mate. I said it was stifling ‘open, honest, and considered’ debate.

Happy Ange would rather stick a youngster in than rely on Sanchez/Dier again. Its absolutely what we should be looking at doing, plan for the future not making the same old rubbish mistakes.

Truth is that the poster in question doesn't disagree occasionally as I'm sure some people do, he does it continually to the extent that it sometimes appears to be a campaign, that he has taken it upon himself to neg rep people as though he's putting them in their place.
As I've said before I never intentionally give anyone a negative rating and I always assume when I get one I it's a fat finger but I do recognise a pattern.
Now, if that's what people want to do then I guess they're fully entitled to do it but it is fair that it is pointed out in case they don't realise it may annoy people particularly when there is no response by way of a post to reply to.
Spurs Community is a very amicable forum with thankfully a friendly atmosphere, I think thats worth making a bit of effort to maintain.
Come on guys make the effort.

I was just joking at John as he does a lot of rating, and not so much speaking. Just a little joke about what his email was, just silliness. I have no problem with disagreeing, I have no problem with ratings, I don't mind him rating my stuff with a disagree, he's allowed to do that and doesn't have to explain himself to anyone. Just thought it was funny to make a joke about the email address, that's all.

If I see a lot of disagrees in a thread then I like to play a game of guess whether it was Email John. Then I click to see who it was. It's fun and helps pass the time. I'm pretty good at it.

The truth is the poster in question has made 88k positive reactions and less than 4000 neutral and negative combined, so he’s hardly spamming negatives all over the place is he?
