On the one hand, I reckon we're done with signings.

On the other hand, Gil, GLC, Ndombele, Alli all out does make the squad look a bit thin...
Yeah it would feel so weird seeing 4 leave so quickly and not replacing two of them... but tbh I would rather see Alfie Devine and others given a go than keep playing players we know we don't want and aren't motivated.

I personally don't think the squad is that thin but also... this second half of the season is just us in the Prem and the FA Cup?
I'd be a lot more worried if we still had Europe to contend with too, but generally speaking we'll be playing one match a week and still have basically got two players for each positon (Even up top as Son/Stevie can do the job up there).

I think this is a smart and effective January window that, hopefully, sets us up for a progressive summer.
But we do have a lot of games to make up. We are 4 games behind the pace rn, so we might as well still be in Europe.

It does feel like a success.

The Juve lads look like they're robust and will add qualities we've missed.

Getting rid of players who lack the qualities Conte wants.

Pretty underwhelming, although happy with the two players specifically that we got.
I'm OK with it. It'll mean that heading into the summer, we're not waiting for ages to get out players we don't want. It'll allow a clearer focus on /fewer variables impacting incomings.

It's a fair window, we're stronger than we were going into it, and I don't think our rivals have really done very well out of it....so far!

Whilst 2 in 4 out seems to leave us a bit thin at first look, this isn't a squad for an entire season only half with just the PL and FA Cup to contest.

We haven't addressed RWB which was the main one I wanted sorted, but with Conte in charge, this squad should be good enough to compete on two fronts effectively.

We definitely need 1 more minimum or I think it has been a very poor window.

Can we confidently say we are better team with the 2 Juve lads while getting rid of Ali, NDombele, Lo Celso and Gil?

Let alone getting into squad depth.

I understand people looking at the positive, however, we set out looking for a striker, lcb and rwb. Ended with a winger and cm. Far to reactive and opportunistic. That’s not a planned rebuild which is concerning.

Don't really agree. Easily possible for two of that five to pick up injuries, we know Bergwijn and Kane are particularly susceptible. Where does it leave the bench?
Conte would need to get creative with his team selection or formation, perhaps slotting Sess in at LWF or playing two up top rather than three. Bergwijn has been better in the striker role than I ever would have expected, I really don't think bringing in a journeyman such as Willian Jose or similar on loan would have represented an improvement. If you include Sess we've got six options for the front three, plus young Scarlett in case of crisis. I'm sure we'll be looking to strengthen in the summer but we're out of Europe and should be able to manage.

Who is the second striker? And second LCB? Asking for a friend?
Second striker is Bergwijn.
Second LCB will probably be Sanchez, until the summer.

I don't think anyone has suggested everything is "perfect" right now. But, we are much better positioned for the rest of this season, and then the summer window, than we were before the start of this window.

Conte will feel backed by getting rid of players that he felt were a distraction to what he was trying to accomplish. He will know that Levy is serious by how aggressive we were in getting players out the door - at less than Levy would have previously demanded.

Kulusevski was being touted as a £100m player not long ago iirc. Bentancur I don't know about but if Conte wants him, thats good enough for me. How anyone can be underwhelmed is beyond me, but each to their own. I'm hyped to see them in action.

Add to that shipping out 3 unwanted players, and a fourth who we may still want but is too raw for the PL right now.

Do all the negative Nellie's have a WhatsApp group as well, like Hards and O'Keefe?
Clear out the deadwood, get 2 great players in, things looking positive. "Let's fire up the group so we're all on point lads"
-no rwb or forward
-squad looks too thin
- not enough for Dele
-we were promised at least 3
-no good signings will come in summer and Conte will leave
"Ok everyone got the message......let's bombard the transfer thread" ?

I think it's been a decent window IF the 2 signings are good and don't end up in a similar position to the 4, no guarantees.

My worry exactly. We're going to spend half the summer getting rid of Ndombele and Lo Celso again which will be even more difficult if they go on loan and stink.

I have a feeling they will do well. Although I suppose it depends how much the option to purchase is? Lyon certainly won’t be paying the reported option fee for Ndombele.
