I'm still expecting them to finish above us at this stage

I think we have a great chance of finishing above them of course but they always seem to finish so strong in the home stretch and we only have a 3 point advantage over them if you take the game in hand in to account and we still have a lot of tough games to play

I'm hopeful we can finish above them at last but if that mind the gap year teaches us nothing else it's that it is far too early to write them off yet
I haven't written them off. I am just saying that our team is much more together than theirs. And we are only going strength to strength these days. It's only a matter of time until a power shift happens, especially when we get our new stadium.

I am hoping they do finish in the top four, fourth as usual so Wenger keeps his job and war chest!

Damn this thread has been put in the library :(

I still think gooners should be careful what they wish for

I personally think sacking Wenger would be a huge mistake for them

I get their complaint about his lack of spending but he's still a great manager a d I think there's massive potential for them to go backwards if they replace him

Is that twat really speaking English? Fucking hell, whatever happened to the London accent?
Are there any posters on here that speak like that?

It evolved...mutated. Jamaican yardie slang, multiculturalism, immigrants, loud music, black kids shooting each other, Nigel farage etc etc...

I haven't heard blud, since 2005 though...

We should take nothing for granted, but the Arsenal always finish strong belief is a myth based on 1 season (12/13). That is the only season that they have increased the amount of points they have gained (on the same number of games after their CL exit than that number before)) by more than 1 point in the last 4 seasons (see my post above yours).

They have 10 points from their last 9 games, so the trend would show they would get about that again, though I believe they will improve on this but they still have some tough games in Everton, West Ham and Man City away, they also have to play Watford who have just knocked them out of the FA Cup and who knows what kind of form Sunderland and Norwich will be in, considering they will be fighting for their PL lives when Arsenal play them. Unless they have a massive turn around like the 12/13 season, I think they will get another 16 points, so 5 wins and we will finish ahead.

Posts like this are just asking for trouble! If they win their game in hand they're only 3 points behind! 3 points, that's 1 win!!!
Surely Lennon will pop up with a goal on Saturday.

And do a hammering in a nail in the coffin celebration.:D

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here chaps. We've been here before and there's still a long way to go yet.

I would've preferred today to be a loss for them in the league, but it's enjoyable nonetheless. However, I'm not going to run NH mouth or speak to soon, the season is far from over.
Was hoping for a draw myself and an extra match with a replay

Too early.

I was getting pissed off at the bbc's "now they've got nothing left to play for" line yesterday. Fingers crossed, but that's ridiculous to say at the mo.

I can understand them being pissed off if the season had finished, but seems a bit of a strange time (a critical point in the season) for their fans to combust as they have.

Not saying I have a problem with it - just that it seems odd.

I think that's actually part of the problem, the fans all see that they are (and have been) in a crucial part of the season, but the players haven't stepped up to the plate for whatever reason. To be frank I think that they've got too many players who just don't have the mental fortitude to push on like that.

I'm going to make some predictions.

  1. Arsenal will go out to Barcelona (shock horror) although it won't be as bad as people expect. They may even not lose on the night but if they do they will still leave with their heads held high.
  2. Arsenal will not lose another league game this season and will win every game in April.
Now this isn't to say they will finish above us, but in my opinion people writing them off or reveling in their current form are foolish and have very short memories.

Not quite sure why there's the meltdown that there is.

If we were below them the meltdown wouldn't be on such a high scale.
However, because we're now 3-6 points ahead of them with 8/9 games left, their fans are in full on panic mode.
They forget they went 16 games unbeaten in the FA Cup - no small feat!
