But we rather prefer players like Tanguy, Dele or Bergwijn to walk around the pitch contributing fck all.
Bergwijn no, but I agree with the other 2
. When we sold Bale we had 100 million and bought 6 speculative punts on players hoping one would take off. As it worked out 1 did, Eriksen. The rest poor.
I would argue that Lamela worked out as well. Would love him still to be here based on how we have been playing so far
I get what people are saying about the importance of finishing top 4 this season, but it's not the priority being set for the start of next season is.
But @Trix, I would argue that we do need to finish top 4 this season so that we can start afresh next season including competing in the CL where would also be in a position to attract a certain brand of players. One leads to the success of the other in my opinion. .

Baffling that 4th wouldn’t be the priority. A few moves this window and they can lock it up and continue to push on in the summer with these other areas that need strengthening.
Starting fresh next season when Conte is in his last 12mo of contract is poor planning. These guys should be planning 2-4 quarters in the future and giving Conte the warm and fuzzys about extending his time with us.

EXACTLY!! Especially as 4th spot is ours for the taking as, unlike the others, we wont have to depend on other results going our way!

Premier league winter break starts this coming Sunday until Feb 7th. Teams bound to jet off here and there for warm weather training and marketing opportunities. Assuming some of our targets are domestic, will that not throw another spanner in the works of our transfer business?
