Krancjar has not been fully fit I believe?

He'll probably start playing on the left soon.

I'm pretty sure Bale is injured so therefore hasn't been an option - would have liked to have seen him on the left with Assou-Ekotto behind him otherwise in Modric's absence.

Dos Santos is more of a left-footed player who prefers the right side but he can play both sides and is also one I'd like to see given a go there (personally I probably wouldn't have bothered with Krancjar and given Dos Santos a go but Krancjar will probably turn out to be a top-notch player for us making me current preference look rather silly a few months on ).

Levy: Welcome to Spurs Harry. I know you like to do things your own way so I've scrapped the system of Director of Football despite the fact that I'm a proud man and I've been lauding it for years. Anything to help you do the job the way you see fit.

Oh, by the way.

I've bought Robbie Keane back.

You've got to play him every week.

And make him Captain.

And mow his lawn.

But apart from that Harry, you have a complete free reign here at Spurs to do things your own way.

Seems fair enough to me... :shifty:

I'm not Keane's biggest fan but to slate him for his performances on the left is harsh.

It's Twitchy's fault for playing him there. How he thinks it's a good idea is beyond me. No fucking point buying Kranjcar if he's just going to sit on Bentley's lap every game.

We still play better football with Keane up front though. Maybe he doesn't do anything particularly special and thats why people are critical of him. But he drops off and links play up, which results in us playing good football. He does a lot more of the simple things now, but it is effective in the way we play. He shouldn't play on the left mind, unless we have a 5 man midfield. But i think Keane is being asked to do a specific job and he's doing it. He has always been at his best when he plays off a big striker like Mido or Berbatov. But with Defoe on fire now, he has to drop off a lot more and it means we dont see him making those clever runs beyond the defence anymore. And that was a big part of his game.

:eek:mg: exactly Keano plays a big part in us dominating possesion and rarely loses the ball

fact is these next 4 game are alot more important than the last 2 which truth be told we were expected to lose anyway

Why oh why were we expected to lose - I thoght we were supposed to have a better team this year - didn't we draw in both of these fixtures last year? Your logic makes no sense:bang:

If it was that straight forward no-one would watch it. Since when is football logical?

OK I'ma explain this one time and that's it so read carefully

They're the best 2 teams in England and top 5 in Europe so when the fixture list comes out and you're adding up the points you think you can get you usually pencil in zero for these 2 fixtures and if you happen to pick up any points it's an added bonus

the next 4 fixtures we are expected to win so any points dropped are points lost

Sorry, but I for one really did not "expect to lose" V united at home - like I said, we got a result last year, and I fully expected to get at least a draw - I certainly did not look at the fixture list and go, oh man U at home, That's a loss:roll: especially after wining 4 in a row! Oh and by the way, I never have and never will "expect" to go away to Bolton and win for defo.......sorry mate I just don't take games like that for granted - this game is not played on paper, it is played on grass.

sure enough it woulda been nice to get a result against manure at home and I was hoping we would but at the end of the day they're a much better team and it showed on the day

bolton away is also a tricky fixture but again we are a much better team than them so if we get our tactics right and play to our potential we should really be picking up 3 points against a shower of shite like that

you might not agree but then I don't really care to much either way

I for one was expecting 1 or 2 losses after the start we had. We won 5 games in a row, 4 of which in the League. We're not title contenders, so that form would never continue. But its a long season so theres no point getting too down about our last 2 defeats. Maybe we could have drawn against Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd and we would have felt so much better? But still on the same points.

I think I would be more confident if we had King and Woody, or at least Bassong and King at the back, and Modric on the left - But King being out, and not knowing who the partnership will be is worrying, and Modric being out and unsettling both our MF and strike force is having a detrimental effect, so not so confident at all - but I guess we will see in a few weeks mate.............

I think if Daw's is gonna play V Burnley we need to give him a proper competitive game first, I know it is a risk, but I think he should get at least a half V Preston - Hopefully we can be so much trouble up front we won't have to worry! Gio, Pav, Bentley, JJ, , Hudd, Naughton, maybe Crouch etc, should surly be way to strong for Preston?

yeah we just need to go out there and play possesion football, they'll be well up for it though and be trying to close us down quickly so we need to keep the ball tire them out with our passing and movement then stick 2 or 3 in

none of this kick and run to Crouch stuff or we could be fecked. As long as we dominate midfield and possesion our backline should be ok and most importantly we need to take our chance and kill these feckers off as early as possible
