KRANCJAR!!! Why did he not start!!!
I'm guessing Harry was reading out the team and struggled to pronounce the name, got a bit overtwitchified and went with Keane instead. Cos it's easier to say.
KRANCJAR!!! Why did he not start!!!
Levy: Welcome to Spurs Harry. I know you like to do things your own way so I've scrapped the system of Director of Football despite the fact that I'm a proud man and I've been lauding it for years. Anything to help you do the job the way you see fit.
Oh, by the way.
I've bought Robbie Keane back.
You've got to play him every week.
And make him Captain.
And mow his lawn.
But apart from that Harry, you have a complete free reign here at Spurs to do things your own way.
Except it was Redknapp who brought Keane back once Defoe had injured his foot and the doctors were suggesting privately that he would out for months.
Indeed, I strongly suspect that if Defoe hadn't been injured shortly after rejoining us in January, we would not have brought Keane back from Liverpool.
So wheeler-dealer Redknapp brought in a multi-million short term replacement? I don't buy it. He bought Keane because he wanted Keane as part of his Tottenham squad. He made him Captain because he wanted him as Captain. He mowed his lawn because... well, maybe he doesn't mow the lawn. But the rest is as 'Arry wants it to be.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...e-as-keane-joins-defoe-and-chimbonda-at-spursThe move to Spurs was first mentioned in mid December as Rafa made it clear for the first time that Robbie Keane did not figure in his plans. As Christmas came and went the two clubs danced with each other tentatively before Harry Redknapp set the ball rolling with his comments to Sky Sports on January 26th where he expressed an interest.
From then on it was only a formality that the two clubs should agree a fee, the main sticking point being Keane's wages which were doubled from £45k to £90k when he moved to Anfield. Liverpool are believed to have given in to Spurs demands to pay a portion of Keane's wages. He is understood to have taken a drop in wages to £70k per week with Liverpool picking up £20k.
Hi Dougal - your sig suggests you're Robbie's biggest fan, so I don't expect us to agree on this.
However, if Defoe had stayed fit in January 2009, imo Levy would not have sanctioned the Keane deal.
We may have made some money on the difference in transfer fees, but both Defoe and Keane came back on massively increased wages. In Robbie's case, allegedly as follows:

I forgot that was there, it was put in as a joke
I can only think that there is a problem we don't know about with Nico - It is way to obvious for Harry not to playing him at LM, must be something - Maybe we can get some ITK??Niko was Pompeys best player at LM.. ran things for them, Beside me why he isnt geting a run in.
