I don't understand why we need him. When Eriksen goes we have Gio. We need a rotation option for Lucas/Son if anything.

still unclear whether Mourinho rates Gio and if we make the deal permanent and once Eriksen goes, Bruno Fernandes is one of the closest replacements we could sign. I see a need, if its a matter of him or a center half or a right back or something else and we could only sign one then I'd prefer the defensive player but I don't think thats the case.

Contract is exactly the same, just higher wages. An obligation Sporting were forced into once they refused to sell him, with offer from us in the summer.

Remember some talk in the summer that if Sporting rejected an offer for him they'd have to bump his wages up. Not fully convinced we need this guy. Suppose Eriksen going could open up an opportunity although he looks a different type of player.

A DM and fullbacks are probably they priority for me. I'd be happy with a a DM and a RB in January but in truth, we'll be lucky if we get anyone in the upcoming window.

We don't need Fernandes at all. If we don't sign Lo Celso just so we can get him I'll be devastated. Lo Celso is a far superior player.

We should be concentrating on fullbacks and a mobile DM as a matter of urgency. Then we can focus on a wing forward and CB.

I agree - Fernandes for me would be a good addition but i wouldn't want to lose GLC for him. Eriksen going may well allow us to add him but i still don't think we've seen what a fully fit GLC can do.

The priorities are as you've noted. I guess we need to see if Mourinho agrees.

I think that's because people wrote of Dele or thought he could play elsewhere. Now Dele seems to be Jose's guy at number 10 then it does beg the question do we need both Celso and Bruno for a roughly combined figure of 120 mil (70 on Celso 50 on Bruno) when both play best behind the striker. Especially when we really need other positions.

Agree - i think when challenging on all fronts you can't have enough creative options. Look at City - we can't compete with that but you need options to create chances, particularly against tough teams to break down.

Part of me would like Eriksen to stay but his lack of application makes me a bit mixed on his future. If he goes, i'd like to keep GLC and add another to ensure we don't burn out his replacement AM in the team.
