Its hard to know because so many players get signed on a free transfer or the fee isn't disclosed. Most bigger names want to go to the best sides, the same as the mens. On paper we should be better than we are this season, but that means very little when we've been playing like we have. Throw in the bad luck with fixtures, player injuries and its just made for a disastrous season.Anyone know how much money we put into the women#s side - in comparison to the others in the league?
Are we being tight and missing an opportunity or do the best want to go to ManC, Arsenal etc regardless?
Well we broke the domestic transfer record this season so I'd say there is certainly money being put in.Anyone know how much money we put into the women#s side - in comparison to the others in the league?

I suspect it's like the men's game and the wage bill is a more important metric.Well we broke the domestic transfer record this season so I'd say there is certainly money being put in.
Well if it is run sustainably like everything else at Spurs(and why shouldn't it be) it generates very little in revenue so will see less in expenditure also.I suspect it's like the men's game and the wage bill is a more important metric.
A long term investment that whilst it's paying audiences is small now, it will grow? Also, it's now part of the Spurs "brand" for want of a better term.Well if it is run sustainably like everything else at Spurs(and why shouldn't it be) it generates very little in revenue so will see less in expenditure also.
It might grow but I'm far from convinced that it will. As we have seen with the WNBA, that is not the case at all and it has to be continually subsidised heavily by the NBA, or it goes out of business.A long term investment that whilst it's paying audiences is small now, it will grow? I suspect you are correct but would really like to see us push the boat out a bit with the women's team.
More than likely, but has to start somewhere and I just wonder what % of the men's budget goes to the women't teams. It might grow but I'm far from convinced that it will. Some are, but ours isn't.More than likely, but has to start somewhere and I just wonder what % of the men's budget goes to the women't teams.
Also, aren't lots of men's teams subsidised, but by their owners?
Well that's a pretty gloomy outlook. Some are, but ours isn't.
I just think we have to look at the simple facts the women's game is likely always going to be what it is now. I remember reading something about it a while back regarding supporters and the women's game. It went something like..... Most of the support for women's football comes from young fans(families taking young fans) who either grow out of it so to speak, or just end up supporting the men's team. There is very little what you'd call actual loyal support.
Why? These women are getting paid to do what they love doing. It's never going to be remotely close to what the men earn but then they are selling an inferior product. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to put it down, it's just a simple fact. I expect some people will actually enjoy it more and as with all sport it's a matter of opinion, but the facts are the facts and as far as sponsorship and external revenues, it just isn't there.Well that's a pretty gloomy outlook.
Because they've had serious money being thrown at the game for all of 5 minutes. You may well be right of course and there may not be room for elite men and women's sport but as they make up 50% of the population it seems a bit defeatist. Why? In the Women's team thread? I would think there are probably better places?Julian Nagelsmann back in the frame for Tottenham job
