Shame our billionaire owner, Lewis, doesn’t put his hand in his very deep pockets and help us out.

I’ll never understand how ‘a fan’ in his position will not see an opportunity like this season as the time to push on and possibly see us win the league.

Any help he gives us could be tax deductible anyway.

I know he would never ever do this as it’s an investment company that owns us etc but it’d be nice for a change to help us through an unprecedented period.
We probably had the best transfer window from all PL teams, with a strong chance to win a league. Did you expect from him to sign Upamecano, Grealish and Zakaria?

And you should be commended for your efforts.

Now I don't mean to be unkind to those who keep themselves trim, but if we're only allowed 4,000 people into a 60,000 stadium, I don't want a bunch of lightweights getting access, having half a lager shandy and a bag of nuts and no more. I want busloads of pint-swilling trenchermen who are prepared to eat their own weight in burgers and then some. Get them in for breakfast, then keep 'em there until closing time.

I'm not saying everyone who gets in must eat and drink for fifteen people to help make up the lost revenue. But they must be prepared to give it a bloody good go. This is our next midfielder at stake here. We don't want to aim for second best, just because we didn't maximise our food and drink sales through ineffective selection of attendees.

I appreciate it's not necessarily fair, but it's the only way we'll get our finances back on an even keel and it would only be until we could have full crowds again. I'm thinking 'Fat as a whale? Then come and watch Bale' or 'Partial to drinks? Then come and see Winks' as straplines for this. What do you reckon?

????????????
Post of the year.

Why would he? He owns tons of companies which he invests in to try and make profits, putting his own profits back into the businesses he owns stakes in would go against everything he stands for. It’s completely different to an Abramovic or Man.City shiek situation so people need to stop going on about this, it’s not ever going to happen.

you’re right. I misread. So that’s to come out next year. Shit. We signed GLC in January though didn’t we. Weird he’s in there.

It’s not great, but they still knew these losses were coming when they spent that money. They must have been comfortable doing it, we all know that if Levy wasn’t he wouldn’t have spent the money.

Lewis has a decent chunk of money tied up in the hospitality sector, so I suspect he’s taken a good kicking over the last 9 months, so based on this it’s unlikely that he’ll be dipping into his war chest for us as he’s got other businesses on life support.

Gee he must be really struggling through this pandemic

Maybe we should have a whip round on the site to help him out a bit during these very difficult times

Your sarcasm kinda misses the point.

Wheeler Dealer wasn’t asking us to weep for Lewis. He was just explaining why Lewis isn’t in a position currently to lavish his billions on just one of his portfolio of investments.

Thanks. So as soon as this all blows over I’ll look forward to Uncle Joe spending some of his personal fortune into turning Tottenham into one of the powerhouses of European football like the bloke at Chelski has

Missing the point again! But I guess that that’s deliberate on your part.

And I’m sure that you don’t really need to be told that Abramovich’s and Lewis’s circumstances are very different.

If they're putting on those breakfast pies again, then I accept the challenge.

Brilliant, comprehensive and clearly explained summary as always from Swiss Ramble.

One thing worth repeating for emphasis, though, is that the increase of £46m to the cost of depreciation isn’t a cash flow expense. It doesn’t mean that an extra £46m has been spent. It is merely a calculation for accounting purposes. If you knock that amount off the reported overall loss of £68m, it’s not a bad result at all, given global circumstances.

This always makes me feel very thick ??

? I always used to hate looking at accounts but have to for my job so I haven’t had much choice, but definitely felt like that at the start!

I like his tweets as he jazzes it up with decent graphs. The improvements the club has made off the pitch financially is quite something. It should be now awash with cash but for the pandemic, but will be again soon. In the near future there is going to be little excuse for on field failure with the club being so financially powerful. Eg. On a matchday we will make more than Man Utd every year.

Going by Liverpool/ United deals and us generally getting 50% of their worth, new Getir deal probably worth £10-15m a year. Buys us another promising 18 year old lol. Surprisingly late to this party tbh.
