I dislike Arsenal as much as any Spurs fan but i dont want to see players, whoever they are having career threatning injuries.

It was an extremely dangerous tackle and i do hope he makes a recovery.

I honestly feel that all this anti-Gooner shite is a complete load of bollocks....Arsenal have played some great attacking football in recent years....not the shite that Graham used to impose on football.
I have NEVER stood when the Spurs 'fans' have started the 'Stand up if you hate Arsenal' chant....It is so very childish.
I do, however, despise the average Arsenal fan!

Im sorry but i dont really hate any scum player or fan, hate is too strong a word i despise people like eboue and gallas etc but to see a player (who i think is quality no matter who he plays for) see his career possibly ended in his first season in the premiership is very sad. I dont see how you could wish it on anyone, i think its quite pathetic if you do.

Isn't despise a stronger word than hate?

I think the answer comes back to where the feelings stem from.

As far as i'm aware people don't become Spurs supporters because they hate Arsenal, people support Spurs and then as a result of that develop a dislike for Arsenal.

That'll become part of my argument to my bro...

Firstly, I second (no pun intended...) Partizan's 'you don't have to be a knob to be a spurs fan'. Secondly, that is HORRIFIC and I feel rather queasy now; for someone to wish that on someone else should only ever happen in extreme circumstances and this is not one of them, this is a game.

PS - intensely dislike Eboue, Wenger, Gallas and others and wouldn't mind if something like this happened to them (although I would never wish it on them)

I do hate Arsenal but nowhere near as much as I love Spurs. Eg I wouldn't care if they win the premiership if / when we get our win tomorrow.

No humane person could wish that sort of injury on anyone.

i dislike arsenal, and dislike intensely certain players or people at the club (eboue - funny how he keeps coming up) but how anyone can be happy with that kind of injury or the fact that they're out for such a long time is beyond me. perhaps i'd appreciate if a player is unavailable for a few matches and certainly when it means the player in question is unavailable to play against us, but i would never wish ill on anybody.

i hadn't seen the match or the injury and i feel quite ill seeing those photos - please take them down

Its a terrible injury that I wouldn't wish on anyone, not even Pires (though I wish nothing but ill tidings upon him whenever I wish anything); I hope the lad makes a full recovery...that being said, I'm not going to loose any sleep worrying about Eduardo or his career.

As for hating the Scum--I hate them. And I really, really hate Nick Hornby--can't write for shit and has terrible fucking taste in music.

I have to say i'm with the 'shocking injury, wouldn't wish it on most, but wouldn't particularly care if it happened to Lehman or Eboue' camp.

Lehman constantly looks for some sort of fight and Eboue constantly makes career threatenening challenges. I hate to say it, but i wouldn't give a monkey's left bollock if either of those 2 were on the end of that challenge. I'd just see it as they bought it on themselves with their despicable attitude on the pitch and the way they play their football. Saying that, Taylor's challenge looks (from the pictures) totally unacceptable and he should be banned for a lot more than 3 matches.

But Henry, Gallas, Adams etc, i wouldn't wish it on because they're ****s, but they're not particularly dirty (Gallas' challenge on Nani was just twatty, not career threatening).

Maybe add Keown to my original list though. ****.

And to answer the question, i love Spurs a hell of a lot more than i hate Arsenal. And i really really hate Arsenal.

The dude that killed the prossies in Ipswich, the dude that killed the model in Croydon, neither of them would I bat an eyelid for if they suffered that kind of injury, or something far worse.

As much as I dislike all things Ar5ena1, I wouldn't wish that on any of them. Hope he makes a full recovery, but plays like shit everytime he plays against us.

Isn't despise a stronger word than hate?

"Hate" caries a cultural connotation these days, what with the codification of "hate" crimes and so on...plus, phonetically I think the hard [t] following the strong [Ae] gives the term a hard edge, an emphasis that surpasses the softer sounding "despise"--it its sounds and what not...:)razz:)

 Second that.

If you hate your rivals then learn to play the game and fuckin beat them on the pitch in a game of football. If you can't play with the ball, well you may even resort to an insulting chant that features elephant-washing, if you are primitive enough! But all these 'shame it's not ... (fill in the name of a player) ranges from immaturity to complete idiocy.

Footballers are entertainers (whether they are particularly good or bad in their trade is not important). They are performing in tribal colours for the sake our tribal allegiances and get paid to do it. Is it that hard to understand? The player is not the enemy.

Celebrating a football player's injury is like cheering a film actor's car crash solely for him acting villains on screen.
