Spurs chat used to be my sanctuary of sanity on this forum. A place to come share opinion and garner better knowledge of players, tactics and anything else to do with our beloved team.

So my question is:

WHY THE FUCK DO SOME OF YOU INSIST ON MOANING AND BEING NEGATIVE ALL THE FUCKING TIME!!!

I'm sure a lot of the regular and knowledgeable members will agree with me on this. Constant player slating, always looking for reasons to bitch and moan what happened? Does everyone's period sync up directly after any spurs game resulting in an all out bitching fest about how this player lacks this or this system doesn't work because of that blah blah bullshit. I'm sick of it.

Kindly grow a pair and get the fuck over our mistakes. Its time some of you so called fans man the fuck up and start looking at the positives of our club and game-play on the day or at least be constructive in your criticism instead of just moaning all the time as if you're opinion is word and nothing else matters. Open your mind to be educated and not so opinionated. You are slowly but surely ruining our reputation as fans and ruining our place in the forum to discuss and learn from the more experienced members.

/Rantover

Personally I think there on some fantastic discussions being had on here about player and tactics. I think you forgetting it is a discussion forum.

90% of the best interactions on here have their roots in dissatisfaction in something. Its not often in any debate for people to feel the need to discuss whats right.

In many respects SC acts as a cathartic outlet for people to vent . When I complain about Spurs lack of invention up front to my other half she just doesnt seem to care.

No don't agree . Been on here 8 years there's no surge in negativity . There has been dozens of threads over the years saying exactly what the OP says here tho . Tbh I find the moaners about the ' moaners' the most tedious of all

We should separate the Match thread from this . To me that is a place to let off steam in the actual game . People get nervous and agitated and should be allowed to express instant irrationalities there imo . Clever dicks are always going in there in the quiet of the aftermath to have a go at the gobby ones who wrote nutty stuff during the game . Think that is stupid meself .

Then there is the analysis of the matches that takes place in more depth ,the look at possible improvements no matter how well the match has gone . If the OP is having a go at this then I doubly disagree . In fact it could be argued the OP is trying to censor comment that doesn't agree with his opinion . Totally anti what a footie forum is about .

SO my advice is take a chill pill , get your head around the fact that there are plenty of kiddies in here ,stop taking them so seriously ,don't go in a thread with a title that looks like it may upset your fragile sensibilities .

Its only a friggin' footie forum on the net f'gawds sake !
Totally agree on this.

I'm a dick in the match day thread at times but if I'm not at the game/pub I treat it as if I am. I'll say things in the heat of the moment and what I'm truly thinking but hey ho, that's the whole beauty of football.

I slated Defoe few times on Thursday and when he scored, some clever dick as you put it came in like 4-5 hours later to 'd'oh' everything bad I said about him. Takes a sad person to do that.

Or the ones who come in and post 'oh God this is so embarrassing, I think I'll avoid match threads in future'. I've seen several culprits post this on different occasions, clearly not listening to their own advice.

Isnt it interesting the match day experience at the Lane as opposed to an armchair session. I like a good rant when at home and my optimism levels are much greater at the actual game.

Streaming is the worst. Im sure I wouldnt think we were half as boring if the stream didnt freeze every 30 seconds. Also it gives a pause to drop a rant in the match thread.

But im going today so yay, happy spurs fan.

i think you should just choose certain post or thread to read. theres a few that i really enjoy discussing with, such as misfits, enfieldyiddo, chinaman, cowincoma, many more to name. i think you've been here for quite some time too and i'm sure u sorta have an idea who are the sane or insane ones. there will always be fans that moan about every single thing our player does, so just do urself a favour and ignore them.

So am I, so I'm in engulfed in the same optimism :D

Definitely, I guess the armchair is always a less engaging experience.

You could argue though, those who pay to watch us are the most entitled to moan if the performances are sub-par. However, you do get some who moan at WHL regardless or seem to make one player their victim for no apparent reason.

If everyones opinions were the same this would be a very boring life. We all have the same goal, to see our club reach the highest level possible, so people moaning (as i do) aren't doing it because we hate the club.

I for one think our play is so predictable, our build up is slow and I can honestly say that haven't seen one great (complete) game of football from us this season. I miss our free flow attacking football that made us who we are, that is the type of play that gave WHL the atmosphere it used to have. People complain about the lack of singing at the ground, well, I'm afraid it's because of our dreary tactics.

I'm not saying I'd rather have HR back but is it not a coincidence taht since AVB took over the atmosphere has been geting worse?

Not to totally disagree with you mate as you're arguably right but I do feel another huge factor you've ignored is the expectation that comes with success.

It's no secret one season was buzzing at WHL because we were in CL, agreed there was some nice football in amongst that.

However, I've noticed WHL atmosphere deteriorating for years, even during the HR era.

It's a negative aspect of becoming a well established, top club... Fans seem to lose their voice. You would expect it to be the teams that win most to be the most noisy, weird.

Definitely agree re expectations. However, even the year after CL I thought the atmosphere was ok but obviously nothing compared to playing the top clubs in Europe. The time we lost against Wigan (under AVB) I feel was a major turning point, since them the atmosphere has been that of a morgue.

I'll never stop cheering for my team but I genuinely believe its our method of play that has caused our fans to complain.

I was watching Southampton last night thinking how great it must be to be a Southampton fan right now as they are riding a wave. But then thinking of things more so are we. We are performing consistently better than our stature or net spend would suggest

I remember doing a nobby styles type dance in the stands when we qualified for the Uefa cup via the league for the first time in yonks. Last home game against Bolton everyone was buzzing.

People say demanding fans are a sign of success but we havent even been successful! I was watching Fantasy Football Club yeaterday with Ledley and his "proudest moment" was winning the Carling Cup, a trophy that most on here wouldn't even wipe their arse with yet it is still the only trophy we have won in 15 years.

We need to win something for people to get the passion back. A day at Wembley and a shiny trophy is a sign of success and if it's good enough for one of the games greats like ledley it's good enough for me.

What really fucking annoys me, and something I can't get my head around, is people who are like that at WHL. Man up bitches.

And its not a minority either, either at WHL or other grounds. The so called passion of english football stadiums seems to be on a steady decline, with singing fans replaced with moaning and unhelpful people just sitting there as if watching the news on tv.

Dortmund fans put Arsenal fans to shame the other day (not that is that hard), but the difference in support between German and English clubs support wise is becoming more and more pronounced.

Anywhere and England really. Worst live game atmospheres I've seen anywhere. Too many stupid rules

What's wrong about moaning here. It's better than taking it out on your wife.

What really winds me up is the way we kick off. Always the same thing, a short forward tap of the ball followed by a backwards pass. We've no plan B.

The only thing that I find really annoying are the people who start kneekerk threads after the match and simply write one line about a player they dislike when they could have just posted in the match thread. It's like they think this is their personal twitter feed and the rest of us are sitting here waiting for them to update their status.

Perhaps we should have the equivalent of a swear jar. Worst comments from the matchthread are put in to a poll. We all vote on the worst comment. Winner makes £5 donation to the running of the forum or gets a suspension. Great post match entertainment.

Edit: Valid tactical analysis or comment would not be valid for the poll, it's a special place for stupid
